Chicago's Downtown North Shore at night.
This is my first picture post here, hope you all enjoy it! I took this picture last weekend on a trip to Chicago, it is of the shoreline north of the navy pier. Any comments or ideas are welcome!
Thanks -Sky http://home.mchsi.com/~skylershaw/Northshorechicago.JPG |
hey, i've never been there before, but it looks pretty awesome.
Post more pics of Chicago if you have them... Chicago is one of the best places to photograph.
I ride my bike there on the lake shore path on a daily basis. I love this city. And you got a good shot of it, too.
Cool pic. More would be appreciated. Its been a long while since ive been there, or Chicago. I cant wait to see the Magnificent Mile for Christmas again.
I do have quite a few more, I will post them when I get home tonight. Thanks for the feedback!
Here is one that have up already. http://home.mchsi.com/~skylershaw/Cityscape.JPG |
Very very nice! Let me guess, that from the John Hancock observatory.
Awww one of my favorite cities, you did a great job! I love the second picture...post more!!!!!
great night shots, I've never been to the windy city. I think your first shot could benefit a bit from cropping the blurry ground out, but the light effects are nifty.
The first shot can be used as a pc background, assuming you use the upper right dark area with (up to you) some transparency effect.
Both pics are definitely awe inspiring. |
Here is a building that a friend called "The Watertower", though it doesn't look much like a water tower to me.
http://home.mchsi.com/~skylershaw/Watertower.JPG This picture is from a bridge on Michigan Ave. looking up the river. http://home.mchsi.com/~skylershaw/riversmall.JPG Here is a picture, taken in Millennium park. http://home.mchsi.com/~skylershaw/Mi...umMonument.JPG |
Fate, what do you mean by transparency effect? I am a photoshop noob.
Thanks, Skyler |
That is, in fact, the watertower. It and a relatively nearby firehouse are the only two buildings to have survived the Chicago Fire.
Awesome shots you've got here :D |
More great photos, blindsider. You probably got one of the last photos of the Sun-Times building before demolition began. Donald Trump is tearing it down to build his own monolith on the site.
I thought I saw the site where he was building it. A cabbie pointed at a demolished land plot saying that is the new trump building location. That is sad, I liked that building!
Really great photos , i like the night picture

Great shots! |
Really like the night shots, thanks.

Chicago at night is one of my favorite things. The best is flying into O'Hare at night and doing the fly by of the city. I'll be back in town next week, I'll see if I can come up with some photos as well.
These are all spectacular! And being from the Chicago area myself, I can really apprecaite them. :)
Very nice pictures. I can't think of anything much better then Chicago at night.

I love night shots, what kind of camera, I seem to have trouble with night shots with my digital camera.
