Yosemite and Sequoia Vacation

I was in Yosemite and Sequoia parks with my wife for vacation this year with the intent to do some short day hikes. I was in Yosemite for three days and Sequoia for 1.5 days. We hiked the Inspiration Point trail, part of the Panorama trail, and part of the Mist trail. I hiked about 2/3 of the way to the top of Yosemite Falls.

We hiked the Little Baldy and Topoka Falls trails and the short climb to the top of Mono Rock in Sequoia park

I ended up with about 600 photos. A few are posted here.

Base of a dome at Inspiration point. The climb to the top is pretty easy and you end up at the second highest point in the valley. There is a great 360-degree view from the top

Vernal Falls. We stopped here on the Mist Trail because I didn't want to get my cameras wet.

Some local wildlife in Sequoia. I think these are the marmots I read about before my trip. There is a warning that marmots in the Mineral King area of the park like to eat radiator hoses and car wiring. These were at the end of the Little Baldy trail, so my car was safe,.

Road entering Sequoia park. Lots of curves and switchbacks for about 10 miles. Fun. Also hard to drive while watching the scenery.

holy crap. okay, i have to be totally honest here. these pictures are absolutely amazing. i've never been to Yosemite or Sequoia (but i'm definitely going to go some day), and these pictures look every bit as good as ones i've seen in National Geographic and Nature and all sorts of other publications. You did a terrific job dogzilla of capturing the beauty of those parks. Thanks for sharing man. I'd like to see more of your 600 pictures!

Looks great. I was at Yosemite a couple years ago and loved it. Went at the end of winter/spring, and found it much more enjoyable than the summer. Few tourists, no mosqitos, etc. And that place is stunningly beautiful when filled with snow. From looking at your pictures, its like two different parks in the summer/winter.

Thanks for the photos. Been several years since I've been. When I went, we didn't do any hiking unfortunately. I have done some hiking in the Rockies a number of times though and I miss it terribly.

I agree, mother freaking nature rules. =)
