Portland's once-in-a-decade snowfall
We were snowed in for most of the week last week. Not used to this much of the white stuff.

Great pictures.. crystal clear quality.
I think the black and white really adds to the 'whiteness' of it all, to increase the feelin of the snow. About how much snow did you get down there? I heard on the news some areas near Portland got 8-12 inches :o I got some good pics of our snow up here as well, I'll be sure to post those :D |
I'm glad I missed the ice storm.
Thx for the pics. |
oh wow i really love the first one.
it almost feels like a complex vector drawing. very very nice |
Used to live in Portland, and have to say it's my fave big city to live in yet! Great books, coffee, people, art, etc. and lots and lots of Indie-minded folks. Great to see the snow pics. It snowed when I was there, but it was usually only on top of Forest Park. But it did ice rain nearly every year, which is imho the worst form of weather lol. I love snow though!
I really like the depth of the second shot. It looks like there is a snowbank underwater along the creek. Was it really like that or just the angle? And I bet there was some small stream flooding eh? |
Thanks for your comments.
bernadette: Thanks for noticing that. I was going for a drawing kind of effect while still being a photo. enough: It's always nice to meet another PDX fan. There was ice at the edges of the creek. That's the translucent layer. We haven't had any flooding yet. It's still pretty cold at the higher elevations, and we had a pretty dry summer and fall. |
