Photos of the town you live in??

Anyone have any photos to share of the town or area you live nearby?

Here's a photo I took, yesterday, when I was returning from a business trip. The town in Cape Coral and there's about 100,000 people that live here. The river on the horizon is the Caloosahatchee and the town on the other side is Fort Myers, Florida.

We have more canals in Cape Coral than there is in Venice, Italy, but perhaps we don't have the same charm, tho.. ;)

well the visibility today wasn't good and this looks nice but is fairly useless as a picture of the Cardiff (the city is the small blurry bit inbetween the sky and the woods)

tropicdiver 10-18-2003 12:58 PM

Hey, I've never seen Cardiff before today. Thanks. ;)

Milwaukee by Air...

(took this one as my buddies were flying around the city in a dual engine turbo prop...)

Some nice shots so far.

Here's a slice of Rochester, N.Y., shot on a beautiful summer (ahhh, summer) day from the top row of the ballpark. Warm nights and cold beer, damn, I'm missing it already!

I'm posting this cos I rode up the hill specially for you guys

the big ugly building is a tax office, the big white spidery thing is the stadium, Penarth Head is just above it and there are two islands - Flatholm and Steepholm. Right on the horizon is the coast of England, across the channel.

Well I've lived in St. Louis and Rochester, commuted to San Jose and Albany; but now I live in Portland --

The center of the world...apparently.

Or perhaps, home of the worlds largest marbles championship.

The match was a bit dull this week so I took a few of the view from my seat in St. James' Park.

canucker 11-04-2003 10:30 AM

That is a huge stadium. How many does it seat?

Jakejake 11-04-2003 11:34 AM

in the Persian Gulf April 18,1988, hit an Iranian M-08 mine on the port side (fr.276, approx. midship), 4 feet from the keel..
a hole 15' x 20' was blown in the hull, knocking the main engines off their foundations and almost breaking the ship in half, 10 injured...
later rebuilt at Bath Iron Works Portland Facility and returned to service.
