Need help choosing: Nikon CoolPix S9100 ~V.S.~ Panasonic DMC-ZS10
I am going to the Memphis in May Beale Street Music Festival at the end of the month and I need a camera. I got a nice Nikon super zoom camera last year but was tricky getting it in as DSLR cameras are not allowed and the Nikon one I bought looked like one and was "professional". I was able to sneak it in on all three days though. I also got some heat from the security guards when I was at the front and when they saw me with the camera.
SO, I'm looking for the best P&S super zoom camera. Zoom is very important as well as picture quality in the day as well as at night. My research came up with two so far. The Nikon CoolPix S9100 and the Panasonic DMC-ZS10. RAW was also kind of important as I like to edit my photos, but these two don't have RAW format. Battery life is not important as I plan on buying 2-3 more batteries from eBay. Are there any other P&S cameras that can zoom as far as these or more that I should consider? I love the extra features of the Panasonic, but hear the image quality is only so-so. Unconfirmed and don't know how it would compare to the image quality of the Nikon though. Thought? Suggestions?
