I absolutely love Stanley Park. I spent many happy hours there and I find it fascinating how everyone walks away wtih different pictures. I was drawn to the water... you were drawn to the trees.

beautiful pictures Kramus. amonkie's point is well taken. Do you have more pictures?

Daniel_ 03-01-2011 01:11 PM

Did you get the mermaid?

Beautiful. I was there once and miss it tremendously. Thanks for the trip!

Thanks for visiting amonkie. I knew I was going for the trees (weather permitting, of course) well in advance of ever getting to Vancouver because I wanted to capture them for my own reference, as well as to just soak in that rain-forest look for the sake of soaking in it (no pun intended). I love love love the water (tho ne'er a sailor be I). But I only took a few pics of the water because I wanted to save the sea wall stroll for sharing with my Lady. Unfortunately Vancouver had it's worst snowfall of the year the day we were going to do that, and we couldn't see jack, and the wind was strong, and we bailed :(

Hey Leto, thanks :) I took a couple of hundred pictures - the digital age is an amazing thing - but most people would find image after image of roots and tree trunks palling after a while. Even got a few shots of the Lions Gate, Burrard and Granville bridges, plus ships and water taxis and such, but I thought to keep the few photos I would post thematically consistent.

No Daniel, I missed her. The seawall was to be a walk taken with my Lady, and the weather was a bitch, so we bailed. Bummer. I purposefully avoided much of the perimeter so it would be fresh for me, and I missed the mermaid. She looks so lovely in the net images, too.

Glad you enjoyed my little post jewels :)

dude..........you should have let me know you were here........

would loved to have hooked up

kramus 03-04-2011 06:59 AM

That would be sweet, Fly. If I know I'll have a few days in a row when I get out next time I'll post in the meet-up thread. I only had one real day that could have worked for a visit, and I spent it walking in the park. I didn't even get to hook up with a buddy who lives on Salt Spring Island, and we've known each other over 30 years now. I did get to a few really nice restaurants though
