Lone Pine
Spent a few days up near Lone Pine over the weekend. Visited the Alabama Hills and Manzanar.

Fabulous! Great photos....so tell us a few hints of why & what it felt like....
(I wonder if this is business or just a lot of fun?) Edit: I miss the left coast in a big way. Great energy and natural beauty. Too bad it's so expensive to live in California! |
I've drove by Manzanar for years, but never stopped. We visited with my mother and step-father and I don't think they realized such a place ever existed.
The history of Manzanar angers me. It always has. It's embarrassing. It's unconscionable. At the same time, the internees confound me. Many went willingly and thought that what they were doing was good for the United States and this was just their part of the war effort. |

^ supernatural beauty - all the shots are great but I really love this wind/rain sculpture framing the mountains and sky!
