Our Back Yard
Hey - I'm a very long time member at TFP, but almost never ventured out of the Car forum until now. I'm looking for a new place to share my snapshots, of which I have many++.
One of the things I like to do best with my camera is take pictures in our back yard. It's easy and there's always something new to shoot. About 1 1/2 years ago I bought a Nikon D40 and a 300 mm lens and I've been having fun ever since. http://techquarium.com/gallery2z/d/30339-2/DSC_9570.JPG http://techquarium.com/gallery2z/d/30881-2/DSC_9960.JPG http://techquarium.com/gallery2z/d/30906-2/DSC_9989.JPG http://techquarium.com/gallery2z/d/30374-2/DSC_9604.JPG http://techquarium.com/gallery2z/d/30205-2/DSC_9460.JPG http://techquarium.com/gallery2z/d/30194-2/DSC_9451.JPG http://techquarium.com/gallery2z/d/27705-2/DSC_7683.JPG http://techquarium.com/gallery2z/d/26782-2/DSC_6442.JPG http://techquarium.com/gallery2z/d/26770-2/DSC_6426.JPG http://techquarium.com/gallery2z/d/30282-2/DSC_9496.JPG If there's interest, I have shitloads more in a big range of interests. I just like to take pictures. |
What type of bird are the green birds?

Part 2

---------- Post added at 08:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:47 PM ---------- Here's part 2, mostly pics from last year (same back yard tho). I have to explain this one. There was a squirrel nest up in a Norfolk Pine in our back yard. One day I walked up under the tree and shot the nest straight up. This is what I saw. There are so many squirrels in that nest that they're hanging out over the edges. It's a squirrel bachelor pad! http://sarasotadetail.com/gallery2/d...2/DSC_1942.JPG For a while, I contemplated using them for target practice. http://sarasotadetail.com/gallery2/d...2/DSC_2092.JPG It's all good now though. http://sarasotadetail.com/gallery2/d...2/DSC_2704.JPG Ms Cardinal. http://sarasotadetail.com/gallery2/d...2/DSC_7795.JPG http://sarasotadetail.com/gallery2/d...2/DSC_4647.JPG http://sarasotadetail.com/gallery2/d...2/DSC_3333.JPG Cute! http://sarasotadetail.com/gallery2/d...2/DSC_3320.JPG Mom (or dad) Mockingbird. http://sarasotadetail.com/gallery2/d...2/DSC_4702.JPG Baby Mockingbirds. http://sarasotadetail.com/gallery2/d...2/IMG_6880.JPG Is there anything uglier than a baby bird? http://sarasotadetail.com/gallery2/d...2/DSC_4459.JPG |
Ugly yet adorable!
Great pictures, bodypainter. Thanks for taking the time to share them with us. It seems like you get to see a variety of birds at your feeders! Lucky you. My yard has been taken over by a pack of territorial scrub jays. Yes, I'd like to see more, if you have time. :) |
#6 is one angry looking bird. Maybe its mad at the smug looking squirrel just above it...

You have a very active backyard.
It's like a little ecosystem you check back on every now and again. I'd very much like to thank you for sharing. This is a instant eye-catcher of yours. Quote:

Don't let fly see those squirrels...

Wow! So much wildlife in your backyard! Thank you for sharing your photos. Our yard is far less interesting - a few lizards and an occasional hummingbird. I did see a coyote with a housecat in his mouth down the street a few months ago, but I didn't catch it on film.

Keep sharing those crazy antics of your resident wildlife. Incredible shots. I can't believe I didn't see these until now.
