oh the memories flood back!

i used to go when i was a kid and the easter show was at the sydney showground in the city

where do they hold it now? in homebush bay?

Yeah, the show is now at Homebush Bay/Olympic Park.
Much more commercial than it used to be. They still have the sheep shearing, wood chopping, petting zoo etc, but they've added plenty of options for you to spend money, like more food options, more rides, 2 pavilions full of the same stalls you'd find at Paddy's Markets on a Sunday etc. And the entry fee is ridiculous! $30 per adult!
I did get some good photos though, so I can't complain that much.

The first and last shots remind me of some of Eggleston's work. Not the subject matter but the richness of the blacks contrasted by the brightness of the lights. Arouses the senses on a very basic level and I'm always a fan of clear scenes without streetlamps.
