My First Thread: Insects
 
Hope this works as its my first thread... I've just returned from travelling in Asia and took these insect shots from various countries.

A grasshopper in the central highlands of Vietnam

Spiders are one of my favourite animals. I would love to see more. Do you have any bumble bees?

We have a sedum in our yard, which bumble bees seem to love (in the late summer). They seem to get so distracted while gathering nectar from the sedum, that you can actually pet them on their backs...

Insects (and arachnids) are amongst the most beautiful things in the universe. They're quite a wonder to me.

This morning I took these photos of a baby huntsman spider - it's 5 cm (2 inches) long, which is only about 1/4 of it's full grown size... they're completely harmless to humans though!

some great pics rainman... but you give the impression that all of oz has dangerous creepy crawlies, which is not the case!

in saying that those are some great pics mate! i totally love the redback. ive seen a few of those back in my days in sydney.
