Cruise photos

Went on a cruise last week, and wanted to share a few pictures (couldn't post most since my daughter is in almost all of them ;) )I would love some thoughts and feedback I am still learning and playing around with my Sony DSC-H7, one day I will get there.

Great shots. Where did you sail from?

Xazy 02-05-2009 08:04 AM

We sailed from Miami to Bahamas was a 4 day cruise.

I like mist in the first shot and the birds in your third shot. Straighten your horizons.

Who'd you sail with? I've cruised to the Bahamas with Norwegian and had quite the time.

Went with Norwegian and it was awesome, just a great relaxing time, and most important my daughter (7 months) did great on the airplane and the cruise and had a blast.

I have yet to figure out how to straighten the horizons right, but time to screw with some more photohshop.

you're not the only one, xazy - not only cannot take a straight picture, but I can't seem to recognize when one is straight either, so even when I put it into an editor to straighten it, i can't do it. I think am slanted on the cellular level.

oh, and I forgot, I love that first shot...it has an unreal quality to it.

If you have photoshop, it's just a matter of dragging in a couple of guidelines(do that by having the ruler checked in "view" and, with your mouse, drag in from the ruler) and rotating the crop tool so it's more or less in line with the guides.

I toyed with it a bit. There's also some lens distortion in there too. So all the buildings aren't leaning exactly the same way. :)

Great shot.

Thank you.

Yes now that you mention the lean I see it, time to play with some magic ruler in photoshop and see if I can get it to work.
