Photography Magazine - What's a Good One?
Hi Everyone. This is going to be a rather boring thread but I really hope that you can give me some advice. I have a friend's birthday coming up and he's totally addicted to his Canon EOS digital camera. I'm thinking a magazine subscription. Do you have any suggestions of what's good - there's just so much out there?
Any assistance would be great. |
There are some good ones out there like Aperture and Black and White, but one that I actually subscribe to is JPG. All the photos in JPG are taken by subscribers and voted on by the members of the site.
|
I read Popular Photography all the time. A little ad heavy but no more so than the others.
However, if your friend shoots a Canon then skip the subscription and buy him a Nikon. ;) |

For inspiration, I like to read LensWork. I also like PhotoPlus, a Canon-specific magazine. Digital Photographer is also good. I also support JJs suggestions, B&W and Aperture.

Check out Zoom. It is too expensive for me, but I enjoyed it when ever I could steal a copy from Friends?

DoubleTake was a really great photography magazine, but unfortunately they stopped publishing it early in 2008. It was the only photography magazine I bought regularly. I'm lucky to have a nice big stack of them. :)
Someone turned me onto this site...can't remember who it was. FILE Magazine - Unexpected Photography. |
I found some old links the other day, so I thought I would include these here for reference:
Foto8 - The Home of Photojournalism: Online - In Print - On Display I have found some real treasures on this site: mooncruise* |
