Only one week left in the desert.
One of my favorite places was White Sands. These are picnic tables. It was very windy that day. It ruined my 20D. |
|
I took some pics on the way home from work today, I really liked this one for some reason.

Took this one while walking back to the hotel from work today.

Yesterday morning. The water has risen today, evacuation has been
'strongly encouraged'...the dam is weakening. http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/h...ile0008-34.jpg |

I know its probably silly...maybe even crazy...but you can't believe how incredibly happy this song is making me tonight. This song is fucking awesome.
This one, too...The Shirelles make me swoon...literally. |
I went down to the port this evening for a bite of dinner. A small lunch/dinner stand with cheap tortas and tacos. As I sat in my truck and ate I watched the sunset as the boats came and went.

Wonderful sunset Tully.
I went to the Coney Island for the Mermaid Parade. This shot of the Wonder Wheel was one of my favorites: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...0_edited-2.jpg |

Thanks, wish I had Photoshop or knew how to use Nero better. My shots never seem to "pop" like yours or those of many other on here. The sunset in my last shots simply doesn't convey just how awe striking it was. On a side note- right before I took those shots I walked over to the fence of a nearby marina. Wanted to get a couple shots of some yachts moored there. A couple of these yachts were built at the same ship yard Tiger Woods' was made. I stood there for a moment and as I unzipped my camera case a security guard came flying up on a golf cart "No photos, no photos! You leave now! You leave now!" "Ok, chill dude, I'm leaving." Man "you must be this rich to even take a photo at this marina." |

Well I've never used Nero to edit images but if you uploaded these without any post processing then that may be the reason why they came out a little flat. And also camera sensors usually don't do much of a good job perceiving the differences between light and dark so sunrises and sunsets are pretty difficult to capture without post processing or a whole set of filters. I used Camera Raw to knock back the exposure a bit, up the saturation, add a bit more contrast and sharpen the silhouette. All of which can be done easily enough with free software like Picasa and Gimp. PM me or drop me a line on AIM if you want more info. |
