Post Your WTF's

We all have'em stashed somewhere...those shots we just had to take for their humor or their WTF.
The deadly sign-eating tree:

I'm still not quite sure how the middle photo even occurred. It's one of those "WTF possessed my camera at that moment?!" shots. Obviously, the building is not curved.

I'm wondering....what if Jessie Square doesn't want to be parked...and why should I pay $225 a month to park her? Can't she park herself?
Yea, that roundness is.....odd. Cool, but odd.
Love the poster! Uh, unless that really was a nun you shot there....

DaveOrion 08-15-2007 04:07 PM

I found this strange creature and 7 others just like it near my dog. WTF are they??? Whatever they are they're always hungry!! :) :) :) http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/DSCN1598.jpg

Note: this is 3/4 of the way up the Matterhorn, where difficult hiking ends and technical climbing begin. It's also solid rock with frequent 100mph wind gusts:

Closer to home ... You know you're in Colorado when:

Ha, what a great idea for a thread.

I don't have any yet, but I've enjoyed the shots so far.

Paddyjoe, the cow abduction sign reminds me of the Pegacorn road sign in Simsbury, CT (Route 44). I don't have a picture, but it's a deer crossing sign, and somebody added wings and a single horn to the deer.

RenaissanceII 08-16-2007 01:31 PM

I believe that this is the perfect sign for us tfp'ers:

paddyjoe 08-16-2007 01:33 PM

are you sure someone added those, Redlemon? quite possibly, Pegacorns are native to that part of the state........

Nah, I lived near there for 4 years, never saw a single pegacorn. :( And you could see the difference between the original paint and the added paint.

Jessie Square is in San Francisco. I still can't fathom the parking there. It wasn't the most expensive, I found out later, just the only one where I could get a picture without being shooed off by the guard.

The buildings warped with my digital camera. It's some building near the fountain in Yerba Buena Gardens (which has one of the only free public restrooms in downtown San Fran so I went there a lot). I had another one but I can't find it yet. The car looks all humped up like a whale.

That ad kills me. It's for the arts center nearby the Gardens. All I could think of was some nun completely worn out and flustered by her bad kids at the end of the day, just enjoying the quiet. :D

I like the devil shoveling snow and the feeling that other people enjoy finding the bizarre and capturing it, too.

fnaqzna 08-19-2007 01:36 AM

Maybe it's just me, but I thought this was odd.

No, that's the Valley Girl "WhatEVer" stance :D

But a WTF? Only in that she's so cute.

I crack up every time I see this:

shesus 08-22-2007 10:49 AM

I have no idea what that rock was for. It was in the middle of nowhere. There were 3 cows and no people in this little ghost town. It was a WT? lol

Midnight, that is too funny. Is that where the wheelchair prostitutes hang out?

Midnight 08-22-2007 05:32 PM

naah. I think its the party zone for the mobility challenged actually...

mixedmedia 08-22-2007 05:48 PM

I think I posted this picture before...a loooong time ago. I drive by this sign every day on the way to work.

http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...age-resize.jpg

And this is a bad picture of the weirdest looking cat I have ever seen. I mean the picture is bad, but the cat's face truly does look like it has been smashed with a frying pan with big, bulging eyes. No exaggerating! About a year and a half ago he just showed up on our doorstep one Saturday morning and stayed with us until someone came looking for him on Sunday evening. What's even more weird is that every picture I took of this cat came out similar to this one. To this day we refer to those couple of days as Weird Cat Weekend....

God of Thunder 08-22-2007 06:02 PM

These were taken this spring in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

This is a marker along the side of the road near Houghton, Michigan.

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...y_boy/wtf1.jpg

This is the sign that explains it.

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...y_boy/wtf2.jpg

WTF indeed.

TotalMILF 08-22-2007 09:41 PM

Oh man, I know a guy from Houghton. He's... not quite right. Probably from being snowed in 364 days a year.

hagatha 08-25-2007 09:13 AM

I loved the weird cat. Maybe he had the shakes and just couldn't be photographed properly.

troit 08-29-2007 12:46 PM

I need hit the street of NYC and find a few of these - you know a few WTF photos have to be out there....

Datalife2 09-21-2007 04:52 AM

Haha!

Or he was a shape shifter... :hmm:

ItWasMe 09-26-2007 01:29 AM

"The Hand" tree in my back yard. I think I did correct the lighting, and sharpened the close up photo, but that's it. You can even see this tree from the street. If you're ever in Oregon (Portland area) and feel like doing a drive by for the hell of it, I can give you directions. It doesn't look like this in the winter; it is stick bare then.

A close up.

In the middle of nowhere in Arizona, a black blur appears in my pic. It's either a UFO or Spoiler: a raven.

Esoteric 10-22-2007 01:42 PM

That cat kinda looks like it's wearing glasses.

lktknow 10-24-2007 08:58 PM

I guess this wasn't really a "wtf"it was more of a "holyf--k" when I saw it. A lot of you probably see trees this big all the time, but we don't here where I live. They detoured us through a neighborhood because of an accident on the main street, and this tree was down one of the streets. I have never in my life seen a tree this big, other than up north, but that's where they are supposed to be, not in a residential area..lol. It took up two lots. Look how it shrinks the house...I was in awe.

I was sittting in traffic a week or so ago and saw this I think he was lost .

http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a69/fish_oinc/apc.jpg

I really think he was but not too far off it was close to Quantico Va. A marine Base

Redlemon 04-05-2008 10:57 AM

The pegacorn is gone. :( We drove by where it was recently, and it was no longer there.

But here's two signs I like.

"Hey, let's go down to that big rock and paint our names on it!"
http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/1...urnamesys8.jpg
I choose to believe that this was a clever meta-graffiti moment, and not an act of complete stupidity.

Also, I just took this one yesterday, it really tickled my fancy.

That made me giggle.
