Photo Assignment 18 August 2006 - Roadside Attraction

Here is your next photo assignment, should you choose to accept it.

Roadside Attractions...

Give us a photo of something related something you find along the road... tourist attraction. spectactular view... interesting car... hamburger from your favorite hamburger joint....

Don't forget to add in suggestions for next week's assignment...

The Guidelines:

Pictures
**How you interpret the theme is entirely up to you.
**Pics should be taken during the assignment period not just yanked out of your portfolio.
**Pics should be 800*600 pixels My Windows XP photoresizer tutorial: http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showpos...1&postcount=11
**We're looking for natural images. Some post processing is ok (colour correction, redeye reduction, contrast etc), but no gross manipulation, on occasion we will have an assignment that calls for differing kinds of manipulation. However, for the most part, think "natural."
**Give your photo a title, it just sounds cooler that way.
**Remember the basic rules of Tilted Photography and the TFP: http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/showthread.php?t=46601

Comments

**Comments have to (and this part is critical) have substance. -----That is to say; "That foto r0xxor!!," just ain't gonna cut it.
Think more along the lines of:
-----That photo would be better if....
-----That subject's eyes would be better lit if you did....
**Comments should have a constructive edge to them, we're trying to improve here not just stroke each other's egos (but do be nice).
**Please comment on as many photos as you can, prefereably every one. No one likes to feel left out.
**After making your comment please make suggestions for next week's assignment. I will take all the suggestions and select one randomly and/or at the suggestion of the community.

**My overiding vision for this game/exersize/whetever, is to improve our skills as photographers. Regardless of your skill or ability we want everyone to contribute.**
**This is an experiement, the processes and guidelines are up for debate**

PLEASE DON"T FORGET TO ADD IN YOUR SUGGESTION FOR NEXT WEEK'S ASSIGNMENT...
Thanks
Marq's standin

Have fun

Made a road trip to Oklahoma for the weekend to visit RockOgre. Drug him out of his bed at an unGodly hour this morning to chase sunrise. Here's a view from the side of the road. Fortunately, he has a key to get us in deeper. We drove over 9 miles into this wonderful forest of windmills a couple of hours, ago.

One more view from a dirt road that ran parallel to the Wind Farm.

That's cool, Koni - scarey but cool...

excellent shot, bobby.. perfect roadside attraction...

Those wind farms are pretty cool - in the area outside of palm springs in california -there's acres upon acres of them -- i really wonder how much electricty they generate..

Each windmill generates about 1.5 million watts of electricity (per hour), when they are running. Three of these will run a town of around 6,000 people (per RockOgre, who should know, since he's known as Mr. Electricity in certain social circles). BTW, we drove nearly 10 miles thru the wind farm to go from one end of it to the other.

Went back and reshot St. Malo at the foot of Mt. Meeker at night. Haven't shot it during the day, though I should.

For reference... it in early morning (not my shot). It attracts quite a crowd.
