Aging is a part of life... I might not like the fact that I'm getting older, or my ankles creak and my hair gets gray.. but it's a part of life... If people didn't age, and always stayed the same, it'd be boring... I dont look like i did when i was 20 -- i don't act like i did when i was 20... I'm a little more comfortable with who I am now... and aging and what we see in the mirror brings about.

I do beleive in the hereafter - -I'm not sure what it is exactly, but my twisted brain imagines it like a nice warm pub with a roaring fire (yes, sister ann told me I was going to hell when i was in grammar school) and I'd get to see the people i lost again... I want to see them again... Living til the end of time without some people - it's just not worth it.

But you see... while you don't age you do continue to mature. The wisdom you would have after 500 years would be awesome.

Combine that with Ben Fu and you will be unstoppable.

Would a person really mature if they didn't age? I'm not sure i would -because at 20 I could be frivolous and get away with a lot more than I do now...

I think aging helps in that you need to take 'stock' of your life, but I can't see acting 20 (aka pretty stupid) forever.

Maturity comes with experience over time. Living forever you will have all the time in the world in which to have experience.

Over all I agree with you, BUT once you get older and see how fininte your time is, I think it does effect how you think.

Good point. I guess my point is that after a few hundred years you'd get pretty tired of being an ass and maturity would kick in regardless.

I would drink, if I found my soul mate I would have her drink from it too ;)

But I see the possibility for eternal life as something grand, the knowledge you could obtain, just spend the days in a library reading all the books you could find, expanding ones mind. Then you could travel the world, see the sights, do what ever you want at whatever pace you feel the need for. Ofcourse, in being able to do this you would also need a large sum of money.. but then again, you can develop the skills you need over whatever time frame :)

I would have thought after 4 years in a fraternity that some boys would have matured a little - -Didn't happen... :) guess they needed a few centuries? :D

The danger is when you go too far, get caught and sentenced to 423 consecuitve life terms in prison! (Wasn't there a Twighlight Zone episode where something like that happened? Maybe it was a short story...)

Immortal doesn't necessarily mean omnipotent. Ya gotta keep under the radar.

what happens when the world comes to an end? Do I just float off into space for eterenity? because I dont know if a few billion years is worth the infinite float.

The human mind isn't expanding, just our lifespan. You would forget anything older than a couple 100 years.

Like I said Mal, there are ups and down to everything. Life is what you do with it. I am not saying mortality doesn't have it's charms but there is no way in hell that I would pass up an experience such as this. I'd take the risk thank you very much.

It's intresting how we are talking about such short timespans in our examples. What would you be like after 2 billion years? That's just unfathanable, which is exactly why I would wan't to be there :)

I'm pretty much a workaholic - but even i can't imagine myself working for the next 2 billion years... I'm exhausted and burning out now... plus my 401K just isn't going to be enough to last me that long...

I would DEFFINATELY drink up. And i would keep it a secret. I would also study and learn all i could. (Skills, knowledge, fighting w/e.) Travel, also. This way, life would never get boring. Boredom would be the one thing that would do a person in.

401K O_o Work some more, chuck it in an investment account and let it grow, keep working while it is growing.
