Issue of confidence
Is confidence in one's self considered a learned behavior, genetic, inherited, all the above, or none of the above? Can we measure our own confidence or must we rely on what other people's perceptions are about our confidence? Hopefully this is the right section to pose this question - if not I'm sorry in advance.

Its seems to me that confidence is more of a personality thus that might fall under behavior...

If one relies on others' perceptions of confidence, than one does not have confidence to begin with.
I do believe that it is learned though, I don't think one is born with confidence, but is rather taught confidence through life experiences as well as ones up-bringing. |
I see confidence as an interprutation of behavoir. I didn't learn to be confident, I learned that I can become the person I want to be.

Could confidance also be courage or perhaps determination? Or are these seperate things?
There is the confidance on asking someone out or the determination to get something done that feels overbearing so taking on that task may require confidance to get it done. So what one are we talking about? |
I believe that it is learned by how others perceive and treat us and the conscious decisions we make. Thats just my take

Confidence comes more naturally to some than to others, and so I would say it is "nature-based". However, it is also a very dynamic personality trait. It can easily be increased or decreased depending on the circumstances and the way the person chooses to live. One can also exude false confidence, which may or may not work depending on how good an actor that person is.
