I hope that the parents of these students are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I also hope that the principals and teachers who had previous knowledge of this lose their jobs.
This is totally ridiculous.

I guess my stance on the whole issue would be that these people went to this "Football Game" knowing full well that it was likely to turn into a hazing ritual. I remember when i was going into Grade 10(I'm from canada grade 9 for any americans), you stayed the hell away from anything involving upcoming seniors because hazing was part of life.
I grew up with a totally different attitude then most people though, albeit that i grew up quite recently, graduated high school in 2002, i still find myself looking at situations that people are in these days and i just shake my head. Just some things get taken to far, as stated by Daval above, when saying he thinks that the parents should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law? Nah, the kids knew what they were getting into, whether they say they didn't or not, if you are truly dumb enough to think that something like that isn't for the sole purpose of hazing, then you don't really have the brains to be entering high school in the first place. The one thing that i find funny about most of these situations is, that the students could have just left. There was nothing keeping them there, seriously, if it gets right down to it, you can always just leave, no harm done, nothing lost nothing gained, just leave. Stiches and broken bones are going WAY to far, but I guess what i'm trying to say is, that the blame cannot all be laid on the people doing the hazing, the blame lays with everyone that was there and involved. Think about it, if someone was flinging feces at you, would you leave? I believe we all know the answer to that. On a totally unrelated note, this is my first post! Hope i haven't offended anyone! |
