Physics and eastern mysticism

I was wondering if anyone has seen anything current along the lines of "dancing wu li masters " or "the tao of physics". The subject matter is so fascinating , I find myself feeding my mind with it.

i read tao of physics. it's an interesting diversion, just as long as you don't take it too seriously. science and mysticism aren't meant to mix ;).

Remember that Physics models the reality that we live in.
And there is a certain symbolism that most religions base on reality.

So there will be some connection,
however...Eastern mysticism has been developed over years after observing the outside world.
Whereas I find that Western philosophies tend to try to fit the world into their model, not vice versa.

So I've found that I enjoy using the symbolism of Eastern philosophy as a different perspective of how things work.

Just remember that Physics tends to try to test and validate it's findings and theories,
most "belief-systems" don't for the most part.

My main interest in these books was the way in which the comparison of physics and meta- physical have commonality. while it is obvious many of the ancient myths are meant as pure fiction, some do show a deeper understanding of the universe that modern physics is now beginning to grasp. Dont get me wrong, I would prefer a proof over a myth, but I do find the correlations fascinating.

tao of physics was an interesting read and at times went over my head. but i stuck with it and got the general concepts. i believe that physics and mysticism can mix, or at least correlate.

I haven't read the Dao of physics, but it sounds pretty good. What I don't understand is how Daoism is mystical.

It isnt really about daoism in itself, more about the change in physics to accept connectedness in all of nature...much the way eastern thought has for centuries.

How do you mean this? Physics has always been about connecting things that don't seem to be related (unifying principles).

the books try to define the interactions of subatomic particles as an interconnected web of reactions, where nothing is truly seperate from anything else....many eastern belief systems work in the same way.

I saw a chi master beat the shit out of people by barely touching them. It was so cool ;)

I can't see a connection with physics, but with metaphysics. Interconnectedness of all things? Check.

the connection is with quantum mechanics, and the interactions of the most fundamental particles(that we know of)
