Reoccurring Dream ...
For the past week or so, I've been having the same sort of dream. What happens is this: I somehow find myself in a very bad situation. I will have a big important exam coming up and I am not even close to being prepared.
I don't know why I'm having this sort of dream so frequently. Does this mean anything? |
thats God saying "Hint hint"
either that or you saw something on TV or something else. Dreams are how the subconscious says what its thinking... Are you anxious about something? |
The "unprepared for final exam" dream is probably the most classic reoccurring dream out there. I don't generally believe in dream analysis, but I have to believe this one. You have something hidden, and you are worried about getting caught. Cheating on your girlfriend? Wasting time at the office posting on TFP? :hmm: Could be anything. I've found it to be a pretty accurate indicator.
|
I have a similar dream frequently. It's usually because I've been letting work slip behind and I have a looming deadline. I blame it on TFP. :)
|
When I used to be a server I used to get similar dreams. Ever since I moved on to a much less stressful job I haven't had any such dreams. Your dreams could be from stress or upcomming deadlines. Personally I liked them, because when I woke up I realized that I really didn't screw up like in my dream.
|
I have to go with what a few others have said, I'd guess there's something that you are worried or nervous about, or there's something that you are trying to hide and it's cropping up in your subconscious when you go to sleep. Personally, I hardly ever remember my dreams, but when I do they're ones like this... it's just not fair!
|
Oh yeah, the "not prepared for a test" dream is a classic. We've all had it.
But when I was younger, I had a really creepy reoccurring dream. I was trapped in a large black & white mansion. While I was trying to find my way out, I'd sometimes run across family or friends also trapped in the mansion but I'd never stay with them. But what made the house evil was that there was a giant hand that would come down from the ceiling and tickle people. I had this dream often as a kid. Wonder what a dream analyst would say about that one... |
Seems like you fuss and study too much for your own health. You should avoid studying for about an hour before sleep. I will recommend you take Valerian root.. it calms you down during the day and helps you sleep at night. It's 100% herbal, so it's mild and safe.

is it sold on shelves in your local pharmacy?
|
No, but there are clearly herbal medicines that are not mild, and some that are not safe in certain situations; for instance, FDA/CFSAN Consumer Advisory: Kava-Containing Dietary Supplements May be Associated With Severe Liver Injury.
You can't automatically say "herbal=safe". You might be able to say "Valerian root=safe", I have no idea. |
Well, my family has been taking it our whole lives, at least on my mother's side, and i can tell you that i've never heard of any side effects, let alone experienced any. And for panic/stress i would recommend trying something herbal before real medicine, so to speak, because herbals don't cause addiction.

you're right, it shouldn't be such a blanket statement, but i'm leaning towards tendencies...
anyway, i think you can at least agree with me that an herbal remedy that aids sleep is less addictive than sleeping pills (which are notorious for this property). |
My massage therapist recommended Valerian to help with my muscle spasms... has really helped me... if I could just get past the danged taste! MY GOD!
It's nerve food... helps me relax, and sleep much better as well. |
you can get it in capsule form... it's ground up into a little capsule so you don't have to taste it (just smell it). i suppose it's not as strong then, but you could just take more. like i said, there's no side-effects, you won't die from taking too much
|
Do you feel rushed at work, feel like you always have x amount of time and it's never enough? I realize that sounds stupid, because lots of people would say "yes", but everyone deals with stressors differently.
Whatever it means, it most likely doesn't mean or foretell anything sinister, it's just an annoyance. |
From my experience, milk is the best medicine for those people who cannot sleep. It doesn't have side effects and it's good for the bones. MMMMILK!!

you could die from too much oxygen, Lol. But, all in all, if you don't take 5000 bottles a day, youll be fine. |

Guess what? That dream is even scarier when you have been out of school for a few years. Just as scary now as it was then. Wake up in a cold sweat and all.

I have never had an unprepared for a test/exam dream... probably because I never took school or tests to seriously when I was younger. Anyway, dreams are simply our unconscious mind unwinding after a long day of taking in everything and making them into memories. I believe in dream analysis though I believe its a more personal thing then most people give it credit. Like I said, I never stressed tests when I was younger and if I had this dream I probably wouldn't be stressed and it would mean something else. Though I gather you probably were stressed and if so you probably have alot of stress in your life at the moment. Even more so if you are getting this dream nightly. I believe most of the above analyses were probably right but remember its really a personal thing above all else. Aside: Herbal medication is mostly safe but can also be ineffective, talk to your doctor especially if you are taking any daily perscription OR over the counter medication, and unless other wise directed by your doctor ease into them, don't just start taking them everyday. |
sounds like your just stressed out in life and its crossing over into your dreams. basicly just learn to relax.
