Telepathy

Does anyone else know when they are being watched? Like you "feel" eyes on you. If you quickly look -you will catch them watching you...

It's almost always sexual in nature. I don't really care if some guy is watching me. Moreover -women always seem to turn around to see if I'm looking.

It makes sense from a biological perspective -to be aware of interest from the opposite sex. Is it psychological or is it phenomena?

I wonder if this is truly telepathy.

Heh, I do that to people all the time

I look at them and they look at me

When I was younger I used to ask dad why I could do that

He said something about telepathy. :)

Charlatan 07-30-2005 10:09 AM

Bet you can't tell what I'm looking at now...

I'm kind of tired right now, but this is what my brain is thinking...

If you buy into the evolution thing then we used to be animals of some sort. Anyway, we were definitely hunters and hunted. I don't know if it is so much telepathy as it is instinct. I think that we can tell/feel when someone is looking at us because in the day of yore, we were hunted. Of course, I am totally clueless of people looking at me even though my husband tells me they always are. I guess I would be dead if this were survival of the fittest.

What I typed is probably tired talk, but it is interesting to think about. Telepathy is interesting too, but I am too logical I think.

I never notice when someone is staring at me unless someone points it out. Guess my instincts suck. We used to make a game out of this, find a place where you could stand and look at a crowd from a bit of a height, the central train station for instance, and pick out a person to stare at and see if you could catch their eye. It worked more often than you'd think, just standing still and staring.

I agree with ohh_shesus about the "animal instinct" and am sure that pip would already be a meal if his instincts are that bad...

Im kind of the opposite, I usually can't tell when people are looking at me, but they always seem to notice if I look at them. Even just glancing at people in another car as we drive past, Ill usually get a quick glance back. I think it has more to do with instinct, sub consciencious stuff in other words. I think we take in more than we realize. But that feeling you get on the back of the neck is odd...

So anyone believe in telekinetics?

Raise my right hand. :p

Her instincts, actually. :p I've been known to kick ass and take names in laser tag, so the instincts are there somewhere. But I usually daydream too much to pay attention to them.

Charlatan 08-02-2005 05:02 PM

Pip, oops... you see my telepathy wasn't really working...

Maybe if you were staring at me, I would have known...

Blue Fish 08-03-2005 07:39 AM

People constantly stare at me. I can't get them to stop.

Redlemon 08-03-2005 07:47 AM

Have you ever noticed when you look at someone, and they aren't looking back at you? No, of course not. It is only noticeable when they are looking at you. Selective recall.
