"Fear" on MTV
Speaking of ghosts and stuff. Anyone remember that show? I think they only made about 3 episodes but the concept was really cool.
The first episode was the absolute best- they spent the night at an old prison. Had to do challenges in some seriously spooky conditions. To this day, I will never forget the 'sugar shack' room they they had to go in- some crazy stuff going on there. I couldn't go to sleep after I saw that show and it's rare that I get scared like that. The other few episodes were kind of lame, forced and all. Anyone remember that show? Thoughts/ comments?

I loved that show. Also, they made quite a bit more than three episodes. There was actually two seasons of it, too bad it's not on anymore.

I loved it. I'm not sure why they discontinued it. Everyone that I knew that had seen it, enjoyed it. I thought it was a really good reality show. The last one I seen was the mine in South America somewhere where deamons and such were living.

I hate to be the vibe killer, but IMO that show was retarded. They over reacted so much. You could tell MTV really screened those people. It was the same group that you hear screaming bloody mercy on the haunted house ride at disneyland. The challenges were like sit in a dark room for 15 minutes??!? And werent they getting payed $25,000 a peice for it? Not to sound macho, but I would do anything on that show strictly on a dare.
Oh and I think they had to sit in the electric chair once too. Well....poop on the electric chair, it's not like it was on.

Wow, I had no idea the show made it that far. They never really had it on at a scheduled time. I looked for it when I could.
I agree that a lot of the people over reacted. Seemed as the episodes wore on (of the ones I saw) they got pretty silly with their tricks. Making the people do dares with ouija boards and stuff. To me, the simpler the better- that's how a mind fuck works. One of the family networks picked up on the idea, I think it was fox? They did a knock off of the same idea.

I always thought the show would of been better if there would of been two groups, on to the mission, and one to scare the hell of the mission group, making them want to quit, and if they all quit the scare group gets all the money, plus the mission group didn't know about the scare group.

yeah, that show kicked ass....but it never really had a set schedule. the times were always moving around. thats probably why it was cancelled, nobody could find it. the concept was cool, the locations were good, but the people were dumb sometimes. but honestly, i dont know how i would react in that environment. just being in a place that had so much fucked up shit going on in the past is enough to send chills up my spine, not to mention having to act out some of the acts that happened there. crazy shit.
but i'm pretty sure the only time MTV busts out the old episodes is during holloween. i know for a fact that i caught a few episodes last holloween, and maybe the halloween before that. |

Sorry, couldn't stand that show. I only saw a couple episodes, but it all looked so contrived that it was difficult not to mock.

A damn good show. Just thinkin 'bout it makes me turn all the lights on. Holy shit, I remember this guy was trying to walk into a room, and he couldn't. There was some force or something keeping him from entering. And then they'd have people sit alone in rooms, and all this noise and faint screaming going on in the room. The damn people tried to talk to the spirits, "im not gonna hurt you, im not gonna hurt you". WELL OF COURSE YOU AREN'T GONNA HURT THE GHOSTS, THEY'RE ECTOPLASM!

I thought the show was good. Of course the stuff doesn't seem all that scary when you are in your house with all the lights on. But stick yourself in the complete dark in some old abandoned hotel and not be scared. I bet it is not quite so easy.

lol, I remember this one episode that the group had to go into a room and they had to do a sayance to speak to these dead sailors or something, and apparently there was this one violent spirit that roamed up and down the halls every night. Well as they were doing the sayance, a friggin old wood chair went flying across the camera and almost hit this girl in the head.
I think that's the creepiest part, when you actually see things in the camera, or hear those creepy sounds.

That show was the best
I thought they were doing a 3rd season but for some reason it never came to be(wonder if they got more than they bargained for).
The best episode was the one in south america in that mine. If you can get a copyy of it you can actually see the shadow of a ghost. Alot of other people noticed it as well and posted about it on the mtv Fear website. For those of you who have a copy of that episode it happens in a scene where the one girl is alone in the safe house and the power and lights start flashingg on and off. Right in front of her you see a mans shadow walk by the camera. The girl who was on that episode posted on the site too and said she never saw anything untill she went home and some friends of her showed her the episode of the show. where the shhadow walked past there was a table next to the wall and there was no way for anyone to walk through there. and to add to that she was alone(no camera crew or anything) and the only other 1 or 2 guys there with her had already left to do their missions. I think that was the first episode that nobody won and everyone quit. that was the sweetest episode ever. another good one was at the asylum where they kept bronchitus patients and the girl called those childrens ghosts to come play with her and the balls in the room started moving around by their own. very cool stuff. and you can see a womans face on the hawaiian epsiode........ |
