Cursed people?
Curses, hexes, bad luck, evil ju-ju, call it what you like but some people just seem to have havoc happen around them. I have had friends tell me about thier relatives that would go on vacations to Florida with them and have it rain terribly every time. I don't personally have any cursed friends or relatives. I consider myself on the unlucky side a little bit, but other times luck is just great to me. So I guess I'm normal. Any of you out there feel cursed or have cursed relations?

Quite the opposite, I have a box that a pagan friend gave me as a parting gift when I moved. Inside are some wax sealed pieces of paper with her wishes for me, and the whole thing has been blessed (word choice limited, best I could think of) so that the messages on the papers will happen.
The catch is I can't open them, but I haven't yet, and I dont believe I will, I trust her. Don't know if I believe in it, but it never hurts to try. |

Curses are the worst thing to do to people. My mother said that they can only work because if you believe in that you have been cursed it lets the things around you (demons and others etc..) effect your way of life.. yada yada yada.. I don't believe in being cursed.

Here's a quick riddle: Taking 2 elements into play 1) mechanism and 2) intention
If a person needs to get from point a to point b what percentage do the top two elements fall? example it takes 20% mechanism 80% intention or vice versa, 50/50, 15/85, etc mechanism can be anything walking, flying, jumping whatever

Well, you can get somewhere without ever having intended to get there, but all the intending in the world will not get you somewhere without some mechanism. I would say 99 mechanism 1 intention.
As for curses, I think it's all psychosomatic, if you believe you are cursed, you will unconsciously do things resulting in bad stuff happening. |

I don't know if I'm cursed but I've had some bad mojo happening in my life. A week after the warranty on my car expired my transmission exploded. Two weeks after I get that fixed some nutter in an SUV plows into me then denies cupability, I get it fixed and two months later a newly immigrated Asian couple side swipe me, accept responsibilty but they have no insurance and no money. Geesh! I also am an expert at picking the slowest line at the grocery store. "Express" lane, right.

I don't particularly believe in curses but everytime someone say's "If i'm wrong my lightning strike me dead!" I get Just a little nervous and I start edging away. I also seek shelter whenever someone says that it can't get much worse.

Well, if there are such things as curses my grandpa must be cursed. He's been struck by lightning twice. Lightning hit a tree near him while he was in his jeep, and it fell on the jeep (the roll bar was the only thing that saved him). He has suffered multiple heart attacks, and finally he just had a four wheeler wreck that broke his arm and a few ribs.

Luck is a four-letter word ending in K that means the same as intercourse. Curse is, by definition, a calamity of will sent upon another intentionally. I do not believe in, nor do I adhere to the idea of Luck, though I do enjoy intercourse. Curses are, however, another thing altogether. I am not a Pagan, and do not hold much power in the intentions of the Pagan ways because I have a faith that I have seen demonstrated as being lightyears beyond the powers wielded by the Pagans I have encountered, and I have encountered a great deal, mind you. Some of them very kind and loving, some of them very, very nasty. Curses placed on people who accept the curses make the curses functional. Curses called on people by themselves have a power as well. There are generational curses as well. There are curses that people unwittingly bring upon themselves and their families and children and then pass on and these things remain for decades, centuries, even. There are Angelic curses and Demonic curses. There are even curses that come directly from God. However, God's curses have a time limit and are always followed by a period of restoration and are prefaced by a warning to repent and change or else, first. Having said all this, Let me close by saying that there is One name which is given under heaven by which salvation is possible and that is the name of Yeshua, Meshiach. In this name, all curses are broken and all things restored. It is because of my faith in this name that I have no fear of any curse again.

I was with some friends at a small festival/band party, and one of the attendees was a proclaimed witch. We talked about it, and she said that she had created rain and hail on previous accounts. The weather forecast said nothing about any bad weather coming, so we told her to try. She was really really concentrated for a while, and one hour later it was raining cats and dogs outside, really really pouring down. We were in a barn, and the rain falling on the tin roof was like thunder, and thunder followed a bit later. Afterwards a friend of mine said that there was this guy who was really bugging him, and that he wanted her to just create one single huge hail to strike him down where he was, and that was on vacation in southern Italy. He was joking, of course. She agreed, and two days later we could see the frontpage of the newspaper that some tourists from Denmark, our country, who were vacationing in southern Italy, had been hit by a huge hailstorm and that several of their rented cars had been damaged badly. The headline read something like "GIANT HAILS STRIKE DANES IN ITALY"
That made me think. |
