Ringing in the ear(s).

I read somewhere that whenever you ear or ears ring, your sub-conscious is trying to remember paranormal experience, or a UFO abduction. Anybody heard this? And do you believe it?

I think it's just one of the little hairs in your inner-ear breaking, and vibrating too fast, until your brain corrects the filter.

I heard that if your right ear rings, something is saying something good about you; left ear, something bad. I don't believe it, but it is the first thing that jumps to my mind whenever it happens.

Nope. If it goes on week after week, its called Tinnitus. I have it. I hate it. It never stops. It usually comes from either a) a blow to the head or b) extended exposure to loud sounds. I've had both. Duffman is on the right track also.

Oh, did I mention I hate it?

There was a place in the midwest, I can't exactly remember where though, but the population of this town was always complaining about ringing in the ears, and a high pitch low frequency could also be detected by scientific instruments, turns out that there was a secret military base near by that was conducting experiments with sound resonance as weaponry. Pissed a lot of people off, and the base was moved to a less populated area. True story. I will find more details if I can.

I've had this ringing in the ears for about 2 yrs now. At first I thought I would go insane if it didn't stop! I've been to doctors begging for help. They have tested for everything and can't find anything physically wrong to correct. The left ear is at a slightly lower pitch then the right and I have some hearing loss in the left ear. For those who have never had this, it sounds like the old test pattern they used to show on tv....I hate it too!

39. Have had frequent or sporadic ringing in your ears, especially in one ear.

Got it from here:

Wait, is that a list of signs of having been abducted, or signs that you are/were in a rock band?

I usually get the same ringing, especially after my brother claps his hands really hard on both sides of my head. Sounds like an airplane taking off or two oil tankers colliding in a busy shipping channel. I tried to make him stop, but he just keeps doing it.

Sometimes I hear a ringing in my ears when there is no sound that anyone else can hear. It makes me wonder if I am hearing some frequency that most people can't.

I hate it, especially when it just happens for no reason.

Whenever I've taken a blow to the head though, i don't get the ringing sound, instead, everything sounds hollow and far away; I hate that too.

Heard that the ringing is always associated with some hearing loss - often a tiny, probably immeasurable amount. If you hear ringing, you're losing hearing...maybe.

I'm hard of hearing, and I get it frequently. Nothing bad though, doesn’t bother me. I don't think it's any Alien conspiracy, but I watched a 20/20 or some other news thing and they were saying that people who had it really bad got hearing aids, or something like it, cause when they could hear better, it got rid of the Tinnitus. Something about the silence activating the ringing. I dunno, I don't really remember.

But who knows, maybe it could be some conspiracy. You never know... *cue Twilight Zone song*
