Do you think these are ghosts in a classroom?

psicon 10-31-2003 07:31 PM

No.

nefarious 10-31-2003 09:27 PM

who took this and what kind of camera? looks like double exposure..

Sunrise 11-01-2003 02:22 AM

Defiitely not ghosts. Some sort of technique was used in the development of the photo or the way the photo was taken.

TheKak 11-01-2003 07:47 AM

Yeah thats a double exposure. I would venture to say that 100% of "ghost" pictures are just fucked up pictures that end up looking like they have faces/people in them, or are just plain faked.

rainbow 11-01-2003 08:22 AM

No ghosts there just reaaly slow exposure time showing trails of people moving through the frame.

sadistikdreams 11-01-2003 12:06 PM

BINGO! rainbow, you win.

DokuPuffs 11-02-2003 11:42 AM

hy_ 11-02-2003 07:36 PM

nice use of long exposure, i use that a lot when I take photos :P

Sunrise 11-02-2003 08:09 PM

har har, I beat you could submit that pic to a ghost site or something, and they'll be like :O GHOSTS!! MOAR PROOF!

psicon 11-04-2003 12:14 AM

Not every ghost site is that stupid.most of them analyze any pics sent to them.

DokuPuffs 11-05-2003 12:00 AM

How about this picture that I took tonight at a remote graveyard. Look next to the tree at the bottom... (click to enlarge)

<a href="http://portfolio.iu.edu/admrober/Images/Childb.jpg" target="_new"><img src="http://portfolio.iu.edu/admrober/Images/Child.jpg"></img></a>

GakFace 11-05-2003 12:12 AM

Do you have that with a bigger black Background or something? My damn astigmatism<sp> is pulling the white up and I can't see the bottom very well. :(

DokuPuffs 11-05-2003 12:34 AM

Here's a couple more edit's of it:

<img src="http://portfolio.iu.edu/admrober/Images/Childmini.jpg"></img>

<a href="http://portfolio.iu.edu/admrober/Images/Childnb.jpg" target="_new"><img src="http://portfolio.iu.edu/admrober/Images/Childns.jpg"></img></a>

Oh yeah, and there was nothing against the tree when we were there.

DokuPuffs 11-05-2003 09:30 AM

Looks like a kid to me, maybe about 16?

<a href="http://portfolio.iu.edu/admrober/Images/Ageb.jpg" target="_new"><img src="http://portfolio.iu.edu/admrober/Images/Ages.jpg"></img></a>

DokuPuffs 11-05-2003 01:51 PM

psicon 11-05-2003 07:23 PM

Great picture DokuPuffs where did this take place? Are there any stories behind that spot?I mean this looks legit.

DokuPuffs 11-05-2003 09:35 PM

Hmm I looked and the picture was taken at exactly 11:40 PM on Tuesday, November 4th. The graveyard is hidden in a forest between to parks in the city of Greenwood, IN. It was nearly impossible to get to, we eventually had to walk across a river to get to it. All the tombstones looked to be of two or so families in the early to mid 1800's. There were 4 or 5 tombstones of deaths of young children. Almost every tombstone was either knocked over or broken; either by time or vandalism. We didn't see any trash or anything so I think maybe it was just time. I don't know of any stories about this graveyard, but I will definatly look some up.

psicon 11-05-2003 09:48 PM

Sounds to me like the children died of disease or maybe harsh conditions of the time.If you look around the area you might find an old abandoned house or remains of a house that once was there. If it's a family graveyard. If you want to investigate any further I suggest looking for any websites that can give you info on family histories of that area with the last name of Alexander.

DokuPuffs 11-05-2003 11:28 PM

Went back to the graveyard tonight. Just got back about five minutes ago. Look at this...

<a href="http://portfolio.iu.edu/admrober/Images/RealGhostb.jpg" target="_new"><img src="http://portfolio.iu.edu/admrober/Images/RealGhosts.jpg"></img></a>

And no, we weren't smoking.

psicon 11-05-2003 11:52 PM

If you a little to the left of center it looks like a face is in the mist.

rainbow 11-06-2003 05:33 PM

Intriuging. Makes you think. What about this though could it be your warm breath in the cold air condensing in front of the lens?

Eldaire 11-06-2003 06:45 PM

Makes me paranoid.

DokuPuffs 11-07-2003 03:51 PM

We thought maybe it was my breath behind the camera, but I usually hold my breath while I take a picture to keep it steady. Also we tried to recreate a breath shot later that night and it came out way too thin. Another thought was that the lense of the camera on the inside was fogged, but the flash wouldn't have illuminated that.

Baldrick 11-08-2003 07:42 AM

It looks like the "smoke" is right in front of the camera, and not much distance away. My guess is that it is coming from yourself in some way - either breath (which as you say, you guard against) or "steam" coming off of your body if it was cold outside. I've had that effect when taking pictures on a cold night if my hands have been in my pockets or such. When I take the picture, just a little bit of steam comes off my warmer hands. It's not enough to really notice unless you're looking for it, but it really amplifies when a flash catches it in a picture.

Great pictures, by the way! :D

Acutsef 12-12-2003 05:59 AM

great pictures mate.
You must have big balls of steel to be out in a graveyard in the middle of the night

hulk 12-13-2003 10:13 AM

One site you might wanna visit is Ghoststudy.

Doku, your pics are the exact thing they're looking for. If you submit them, they'll give their expert (=D) opinion, and you'll probably get them posted. Good pics, especially the mist. Check out the gallery, it'll spook you.

dannyboy21 12-14-2003 02:49 AM

Nice pics dude!
Wish I had the galls to go out in the middle of the night to take pics..

dickie 12-29-2003 01:01 AM

GakFace 12-30-2003 12:57 PM

Wow.. amazing shot! I need more friends that are willing to do these kinds of things.
