A wave of silence.
Last night was I was lying in bed I kept having a wave of silence wash over me. It mainly felt like it was in my brain/head. Anybody else have this happen to them? It was weird.
|
a wave of silence? Can you try to describe it in more detail? I know this is probably a difficult question to answer.... I'm thinking like... Did you feel any cold chills? Did your hair stand up on end? Where did the wave originate.. and where did you last feel it? Was it on the back side of the head too (by this I mean the part that was resting on the pillow). How exactly was it silence? Thats kinda what i'm looking for. Sounds neat, can't wait for your reply!

i think he means no noise
|
It was very weird like for a second I didn't exist. The first time I was aware of it was when it felt like on the bottom of my forehead, but it was coming form the inside and just like a wave it move up and maybe out the back of my head. It is hard to recreate the feeling, and one time when it was quit I thought I heard the silence breathing. It didn't really freak me out I just laid there like it was natural, normally when I hear a noise I touch the lamp and turn it on and look around, but I just laid there. I wasn't paralysis I could move if I wanted to, and I was awake. I kinda want it to happen it again so I can, listen more.

I sometimes just kinda feel empty for a moment. Or like, just kinda not in my body. But that may just be lack of sleep kicking in.

Dissociation.

your consciounsness is probaly saying nighy night :)

A complete Nothingness. How did it make you feel? I've had times where I've been in COMPLETE Serenity. When like that... I feel like silence is everywhere.. though all of me.. even if people are making noises in the background. I'll have to think about this again when I get home. Thank you VERY much for trying to describe it more.
Flesh: Yeah from a simple view he means no noice, but this he specifically said a WAVE... waves tend to be more than just.. "quiet!.. oh its loud again" I get spiritual Waves a lot. Sure they aren't the same, but I do know what waves feel like. Because of this I asked him to try to detail out how the wave passed his body and what not. When you really ponder something, its amazing how simple things can end up being described in much more depth. Other people: I dunno, I've been EXTREMELY tired before.. and I mean like over 48 hours of no sleep.. I don't recall ever getting weird feelings... (then again, I'm talking about me, and I'm Psycho :)) |

well, now I understand the feeling.. The next part is to try to root out "Why Now?"
|
If we weren't bombarded with nonsensical input every waking moment, we'd have these sensations every time we go into a state of relaxation. It's hard to know anything about ourselves as a result of the constant state of brain-numbed sensory overload we call "daily life".

could be drugs, could be bliss; take two tylenol and call us in the morn'
|
So, Psivage, what all happened that day?
|
Sounds to me like the begining of and OBE (Out of Body Experience). Were you feeling like you were slipping out of reality?
|
Yeah thats right! I very well could have been. When I had that feeling, My body was still where it sat, but spiritually I was in another realm of existance. And in that sense, thats kind of like an OBE. Kind of because Although my spirit was there, I still was able to acknowledge the physical world too. But yeah, back to the story, I agree that this could be part of it.

i used to get processional waves of darkness... my room would get darker, darker, darker until it was perfectly black, even my clock radio and nightlight (i was a kid) - If i blinked rapidly and moved my head around, i'd see again, but its a memory i keep to this day, and its still vaguely creepy to me.

As far as waves of silence, I wish I could experience that. Psivage, perhaps you are dead? |
for the darkness thing... If you stare at a specific point very intently, soon enough without blinking you'll notice you're concentrating really hard on nothing.. You once were, but now you're just staring.. give that time and it appears to get darker, its kinda cool. Now if you do this in a dark room, and you can drown out a lot of lights. I do this on occassion when i'm bored and in bed ;)
He can't be dead, if he were, they we would have already slipped out of reality. BUT, he hasn't and his past attempts to follow through have failed. Hmm, slipping out of reality? I dont' think I've gone through that before.. is there any way to describe it further? |
I've experienced this as well, and (for me anyway) it usually happens when I slip right from consciousness to dreams; i do this sometimes when I'm purposly going into a lucid dream. One minute I'm lying in bed meditating on the dream and then the wave of nothingness comes. The next time I focus on my surroundings I can notice that I'm dreaming, or I get jaunted and wake up.
