Listening to the house.

Ever lie in bed at night and just listen? You heard stuff. Like people talking in the distance, you know its voices but can't make out the words.

You think you listen to your house now? Try reading House of Leaves by Mark Danielewski. Oh yeah, you'll be listening to your house. Closely. And measuring it. Carefully.

I hate listening to house. I mean it's just the same beat repeated over and over. Far too monotonous for my taste.

Alright enough mocking this guys. If you don't have anything to contribute, don't mock it.

I'll be in my room at night when EVERYONE, except for me, is in bed, and all TV's & Radios are turned off. But then.... I'll hear something. In fact I'll hear two people talking. I have no clue what they are saying, but they are most definately speaking. It seems like they are speaking english, but i can't really tell. Mayhaps its angelic, I don't really know. Originally I would get up and check for anything that makes sound... but nothing.. and all windows would be shut... or at least beadroom doors. The sound of the people speaking is rather quiet, so if a door is shut, that would be sufficient to stop me from hearing them. I still have no clue where they are, but its not in my head, as it doesn't appear to be in my room, but where.. I simply cannot say.

actually this is one thing I've tried to ignore and shrug off... but it doesn't work.

very often i will hear conversations, too quiet to understand. not like a whisper, but as if they are not... here... and no it's not neighbors or electronics.

it creeps me the fuck out.... and believe me, i'm hard to scare.

no i don't hear voices. i do hear breathing though, that scares the crap outta me. not all the time, just once in a while. it always seems to come from different places too. like whatever is doing it is moving around.

Well yeah, I live in a dorm, so there are often voices in the distance. Seriously though, just listening to your house when you're home alone can be very creepy. My computer speakers have an unfortunate problem of picking up radio every now and then, so sometimes I'll hear voices start talking out of no where, and until I realize what it is, it really freaks me out. Especially when it only lasts a few seconds and it sounds like something just yelled at me, cause it's usually pretty loud.

I hear voices sometimes, usually late at night if I'm really tired. They vary from whispering to loud babling. I usually can't make out the words, either because there are too many voices at the same time or because the voices aren't loud enough.

But sometimes I can make out fragments of the conversations, and they sometimes even make sense...

They freak me out
