Watering eyes
Am I the only one who, when reading/thinking/talking about paranormal stuff finds their eyes watering for some reason?
I'm not a huge believer or anything, and I've never seen anything, but I find the whole paranormal thing interesting, and for some reason when I'm thinking about paranormal stuff my eyes go all watery... it's weird. |
Whenever I watch a movie and a ghost passes by in the distance I get the watery eyes, goose bumps and the shivers. So you're not alone on this one.
Whenever I hear anyone say something stupid my eyes water, I have no clue why. Sometimes a really stupid moment in a movie will make my eyes water too. all true.
Just goose bumps and shivers for me.
hmm nope that doesnt happen to me
Never happened until I read this post. No I'm going to mention "yawning" as revenge. sk
My eyes are watering right now, but I think it is because of my allergies
staring at the monitor for too long, eh semi-normal?
:-) |
i have that same exact phenomenom. thought i was weird but yeah. I knew what you were talking about just by the titlte of the post being on this board
Wenever i see an advert on the TV for shampoo my eyes always run! Is that just me?
The same thing has always happened to me, and I've never known why.

Mabe Onions are really ghosts.....that's why my eyes water when I cut them...............
mm nope dont happen to me, sorry :P
The same thing happens to me sometimes when I have everyone's attention and I'm telling a joke or story.
My eyes water usually when someone talks about someone who has died, it's like they are in the room or something  , or maybe im just paranoid
Happens to me when I watch Homeward Bound. The one with the two dogs and a cat trying to get home. Oh and when ET dies
this is really wierd.but when i get insanely angry i cry.I know this is not due to the sadness i feel when i get angry.I've thought about also. And whenever i have to present something to a large group my eyes start to water.anyone else experience this pendejada?
no i get the same sensation
kewl |
Eye watering is a function of the sympathetic nervous system, just like heightened heartrate, respiration and perspiration.
In other words, it's a normal part of having an elevated level of nervousness, anxiety, or even just attention. |
Lately when thinking of spicy food my mouth stings and starts watering. Same thing?
interesting stuff, ratbastid!
i, too get watery eyes. at the thought of ghosts/psychic/dead people/paranormal, discussing in real life, or even just reading about it. like the ouija thread was enough to get me watery eyed the first time i read it. it doesn't take much for me. and i get the chills too. strangely enough, i don't react like that with touching moments in movies. and yawning reflex is mostly suppressable with me. |
I get really really cold and shiver. Is this a sign of nervousness and anxiety as well, like watery eyes?
My eyes water everytime I read about Paranormal stuff, this whole Forum as made my water, I thought I was just weird. Thank you for posting this topic to let me know I'm not alone.
My eyes water when I yawn. :(
I too get shivers and chills, but haven't noticed the eye thing. I will pay attention now to see if it occurs to me! I love ghost and paranormal shows...Long Live Sci-Fi channel!
Watery eyes
I get watery eyes also when i'm telling a joke or story to someone or when i'm excited about something. Very annoying.
Really weird, but my eyes water when I masturbate...
hmm my eyes only water when i see people who like put contacts in their eyes or just play with thier eye or when they just ahve really red eyes.. like my eyes cant stand it and it jus waters up..lol
my eyes water when I wear glasses
could another reason be that when you're reading/watching something about the paranormal that you blink less often, and thus cause your eyes to water? happens to me when gaming.
...
:hmm: Very strange. My eyes water when I'm sad and thats about it. Or when I lay on my side. Maybe when I'm sad or laying on my side an alien enters my body and makes my eyes watery. :hmm:
Sometimes when im mountainbiking and my foot comes loose and I slip on to the crossbar my eyes water.
Yes, my eyes water EVERY TIME I read something scary that's paranormal or something paranormal in general.
Like when I first watched the Barton Masion video, i was pretty much crying. |
mine usually water when I talk about something I care deeply about. People think I am crying but it lets me know that I am onto something that I care about. This also happens when I watch Ghosthunters- but ONLY on really good episodes. Watching the one with the Manson Killing of Sharon tate now and my eyes are going crazy.
my eyes are getting bleary as I type this right now; not sure if it's because I'm tired 'cause of the hour, sick 'cause of the times and windy weather, or what, but it is some kind of acute timing I do possess.
I have sensitive eyes (and a real aversion / developing phobia about anything whatsoever that may disturb them in any way). my eyes water for a variety of reasons, perhaps too many for me to account for, and sometimes I don't even pick up on it until there's a long stream coming down. same with snot and drool I guess, for some. in particular, one thing you could stand to know about me: my skin is built for the cold, but my eyes are not. I look like I just broke up with wife or another devasting event that can make a man cry (seeing a bunny being devoured by a fox in front of you) sometimes if I walk into the wind the wrong way. |
I get them sometimes when recalling a weird event, but not while the event takes place. It's not so much emotional, but rather like Rat explained, a heightened mental state.
I've never given it much thought, but after giving the paranormal activity some thought, they do water a little. Weeeeird.
