No really, O'Reilly pretty much has it covered there.

It should be noted that Billo was actually looking in the mirror when he said that.

Well if he were being honest he would have included lying and egoistical to that. But when has Bill ever let the truth seep into anything he's said?

You're right, I'm sure O'Reilly couldn't come up with anything better.

Willie Nelson is entitled to his opinion, just as you and I are. On the other hand, unless he holds an engineering degree that I'm not aware of Willie Nelson's opinion is an amateur opinion, like yours or mine is. So if you want to use Willie Nelson as a spokesperson, the argument would naturally turn to his character, since that's the sole reason his opinion is relevant. Let's discuss that, shall we?

Willie Nelson is a hippie. He's a pot smokin', oil hatin' hippie who couldn't fit the stereotype better if he tried. And nobody is surprised when a hippie speaks out against 'The Man.' Tom Cruise doesn't change opinions on psychiatry because he's not an expert and he's a scientologist. Everyone knows scientologists think psychiatry is bogus, so nobody's surprised when the scientologist slams psychiatry and the only people who take him seriously are the other scientologists, who don't need to be converted in the first place. Similarly, getting the hippie to support your conspiracy theories only convinces the other hippies.

Do you really think there's anyone out there who are saying 'well, gee, I always thought this conspiracy theory was a bit wacky but if Willie Nelson believes it maybe there's something to it?'

If you got a guy like James Randi to support what you're saying, I might think there's something to it. Not because of his qualifications (magicians aren't generally known for their abilities in engineering any more than musicians are) but because he's shown in the past a strong history of critical thinking and skepticism and if he came out and publically stated that he believed something I'd think somebody's handed him some strong evidence. Even better would be if an expert in the field published a paper in a peer-reviewed journal that supported your allegations. That's the one thing above any other that would lend you some credibility, but it hasn't happened.

I've seen a lot of 'evidence' advanced in support of the conspiracy theories here. I've seen 'aviation experts' who've never flown anything bigger than a Cessna, I've seen statements taken out of context, statements selectively ignored. Based on the evidence given so far the conclusion I've drawn is that the people who support the conspiracy theories (conspiracy hypotheses would be a better term, but that's semantic) believe because they want to, rather than because of any compelling evidence. It's going to take a lot more than Willie Nelson to convince me otherwise.

Just because another celebrity asshat says something stupid doesn't mean you have to redebate them on the issue and take them seriously.

The 9/11 conspiracy crap has been done to death, explaining it to Willy doesn't do anything new.

I would have used 'retarded' instead of pinhead but then I don't have to worry about the special Olympics people sending angry emails to me like he would.

When people like Willie and Rosie O come out with stuff ike this, it says more about them than about the topic at hand. They don't have any more knowledge of the subject than I do, and likely far less. But now I have a better idea of how to feel about anything else Willie might have to say. I like his music but now I believe he's just an aging crackpot on political subjects.

hmm....well, personally I'd be more inclined to trust Willie over GW in just about any situation as far as just telling truth, be it talking bs in a bar or anything pritty much.

Willie is just expressing his opinion having watched the incident, that's all.

funny how when looking at the event, my gut tells me plain and simple what's happening. but opposing opinions need volumes of data to tell me why they think I'm wrong.

even the Germans didn't want to believe the Nazis were killing jews even though they could smell the corpses rotting.

I do think it's great he voiced his opinion in public. more famous people should if they indeed question what the truth is. if enough famous people did than others wouldn't feel like they're alone with their questions. eventually, someday we might see more research on this in a "legitimate" venue...like Frontline or ?

how much do you want it not to be true ? is it possible it clowds your opinions ?

and BTW Ustwo, 'tards are people too !

There were several implosion theories (not just conspiracy ones) being discussed after 9/11.
