Kasparov - the CIA presidential candidate for Russia
Kasparov - the chess champion is running for president in Russia. He calls Putin a dictator and says that Russia supplies weapons to Iran and wants them to create the atomic bomb, because they want "tensions" in the Middle East to keep the oil price high, or else Russia collapses he says. What has oil price to do with the atomic bomb and weapons I do not know. If Iran wants to hurt anybody by high oil prices they can just stop exporting. And the war in Irak is keeping the oil at a high price , not Russia- and all the oil companies of the world profit from this I say this interview was arranged and Kasparov is paid by the CIA to do what he does and say these things. He is helped by them in his run for presidency, the same way other presidents from the "Orange Revolution" in the Eastern Europe were paid And here Russia says oil is overpriced: http://www.smh.com.au/news/business/...940902976.html |
The war in Iraq doesn't keep oil prices high, though. Iraq's stability has nothing to do with the price. In fact, the military often guards oil fields. We pay to keep production safe. Despite "high crude costs", petro companies are making RECORD profits. The oil price conspiracy lies there, methinks!
As for tensions in the middle east keeping oil prices high, it's politicking at it's worst. Putin is pro-Iran the same reason that the US was pro-Afghanistan when the Russians were here. Our enemy's enemy is our friend? |
I don't get it. So what? Putin is so popular that whoever his annointed succesor is will be easily elected. Most Russians don't know who Kasparov is.
The CIA's sponsoring a candidate? Good change in policy, but I'm sure they realize the futility of it too. |

The US has been attempting a number of things that Russia would consider an attack on their interests. New oil and gas pipelines that would counter Russia's current monopoly would directly impact the leverage they have over countries dependent upon Russian supplies. Bush's intent to install missles in post-Soviet countries in response to the Iranian ::cough:: "threat" is also at odds.
Iran's vast gas and oil reserves are the only reason that Bush & Cheney are banging the war drums again. Whatever CIA involvement there may be would be directed toward obtaining those fields. Kasparov is unlikely to be anything other than a sideshow to more immediate prospects. |
