Why this number?
Im sure you all know about PI, it serves to calculate circles allright but that all.
But what about PHI? Full article here : http://goldennumber.net/  Why does it appear so often like that? This number as intrigued me for quite a while...its like a ghost who finds its place everywhere in nature. |
if i told you, I'd have to kill you.

cool . 1st time i see this #. i'll have to read more on the subject.

personally, i don't think it's that significant, because i don't think it really shows itself as pervasively as the site's author believes.
what he seems to be doing is selecting information in each category that supports the claim (take a look at the "Human Body" page) while ignoring data that doesn't support the claim (the bulk). i do believe, however, that there are quite a number of strange mathematical "phenomenon." |
That is my PIN number.
I've used 1618 since I was 10, so that is strange. I would take a wild guess and say the reason it appears in nature so much has to do with chemistry and the way atoms bind together. |

if I'm not mistaken, phi appears quite a bit in nature because its the optimal growth equation for spacing. [ie leaf spacing on certain types of trees and spiral shells]
