Lights in the sky
I've been reading a lot of quips over the last week about mysterious lights in the sky being spotted. In order that I came acrossed them were in Iran, Arizona, North Carolina/South Carolina border, & France. Now I didn't see any of these, but two things stood out to me as somewhat odd. First, that when it rains it seems to pour these sort of things. I can go months reading the same news sources and never see a one of these types of articles, but whenever there is one there seems to pop up at least a few more in unrelated areas (not to mention further ones in the same areas. Second, that a lot these have the same sort of descriptions whereas I recall a lot more diversity in descriptions in the past. This just strikes me as interesting. Particularly so because, as far as descriptions go, they follow recent (within the last year) sightings I had seen of a orangish red light hovering and moving about interchangably over the course of about an hour then a small light of the same color slowly descending from the first to the ground (sometimes followed by a third light descending in the same manner), finally followed by some slight movement of the primary light before it either goes out or dashes of at an amazing speed.
Anyway, its been months and months since I'd seen my light, but these recent descriptions all in a row got me thinking about it again because of the similar descriptions and the, seemingly, recent outburst of them. Thoughts?

Comet McNaught was visible in the Northern Hemisphere in December and in the Southern this January. The first day it was not hazy here (due to the bush fires) the newspapers received calls about a UFO.
Plus there are things such as shooting stars and even sattelites that are visible on clear nights. That or military jets undertaking excercises.
