The guys on the roof *have* to be the Carpenters. They're putting up a frame even.

What's the yellow band around the 'smashing pumpkins' guy's arm? Or is that just a piece of pumpkin?

Also: pooh sticks, if I remember right, are sticks that you throw into a creek, with the idea of racing against other pooh sticks. This doesn't fit this at all. Plus, looking closely, I see some of the ends of the 'sticks' have flat heads, while others have points.

Things that are bugging me (in addition to charlatan's list):


1. The girl with bubblegum (it can't be blondie--why would they add such a conspicuous detail like the gum?)
2. The inflatable doll in the shop along with whatever is next to her
3. The yellow band on the smashing pumkin guy's arm (if it's not a piece of pumpkin, then it seems out of place)
4. The 'main street' sign
5. The subway station
6. The three girls holding hand (I'm willing to concede that those are gogos, but somehow I have a feeling a cleverer answer is lurking there)

OK, so do we have crowded house and bloc party as the same thing? I believe we do, in which case your suspicion of bloc party would be correct and i'd tend to go with crowded house.

Secondly, I clicked on the virgin link and the rules came up, and they said there are 74 bands, so that lowers the number we're looking for by 1.
