That special mood music....

What I am looking for is some recommendations on music to play when you are trying to set the mood. I know all about Barry White... and I know zero7 is another good one... but I need some suggestions of either albums or individual songs that you, the great people of the TFP, would recommend.

Thanks in advance, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lovage - Music to Make Love to Your Old Lady To.

You should listen through it all the way and pick only select songs. Jennifer Charles sings in the band, and her voice just oozes sex.

I dunno if this is style you're looking for but The Cure has some pretty good stuff to set the mood.

That's what I usually pop in.

Not sure it they're your type, but some of the older Boys II Men songs or the song Red Light Special (not sure who the artist is).

So much of the answer to this question depends on what your love interest likes. Al Green was always a dependable choice, but even before I knew about him, Olivia Newton-John worked. Ok, I've just dated myself back to the 70's, but the point is the same--the music can't be intrusive (that is, something that demands the listeners' attention) and can't be annoying. For instance, a girl that likes Korn and NIN likely isn't going to warm up too much to Mariah Carey, and vice versa.

Best option--let her pick from your wide-ranging selection. Worked for me when I wasn't sure.

D'Angelo's Voodoo album does the trick usually. depends more on what type of music they like though...one girl i knew loved to have sex/make out to Cannibal Corpse and the like.
