What's the name of that tune adopted by the GOLF Association that
you hear before every Golf tournament on TV? Lots of violins and
strings swirling in a instrumental "Spring-day-in-Nature" sound.

Name the other band he fronted.

(hint: It was with Jimmy Page)

I think what happened with the old was was that it just ran it's course. I tried to revive it a couple of times and Flyman helped, but it fell by the side.

Glad to see it back again.

You may want to re-post the rules from the original.

Glad to see it back. Let the stumping begin.

The Reverend Horton Heat. Can I get a witness?!?

What British glam-rockers was forced to retitle a single in 1971 that was about to bring his band international fame when an American group called Chase charted with a song by the same name?

Edit: Forgot to ask a question.

How, or should I say, from who, did the Ramones get that name?

Fine then. It was Marc Bolan and T-Rex, and the single was "Get it On". T-Rex renamed it "Bang a Gong (Get it On)".

The Ramones got their name from Paul McCartney, who used to call himself Paul Ramone when playing with his brother.

New Question: What fictional member of the band Gorillaz supposedly fed-exed themselves to the audition for the band according to the band's backstory?

Question: Jethro Tull is not a member of the band Jethro Tull. From whence did they get their name?

Jethro Tull was a 16th? Century English Inventor. Not entirely sure if it was an improved plough or seed drill that he invented.

As long as we're on Jethro Tull, they've put out two albums that are each one long song. Name one to go forward, both to get a cookie.

Jethro Tull was the inventor of the seed drill, if I remember rightly.

The two albums are Thick as a Brick and A Passion Play. Cookies for me!

Question: The Cure, formerly named The Easy Cure, was originally formed in the late 70's in Crawley, England, with what band name?

jaymes, you have to answer the previous question before posting another.

BTW, Anxst, the answer to yours is "Obelisks", although they switched to "Malice" a few years after.

At its smallest, Belle and Sebastian boasted how many members?

Just to answer jaymes' question, it is Bernie Taupin.

But, per the rules, Bob Biter's question is currently the live one.

For those of you not aware of them, they are: From version 1 of this thread.

An answered question has 12 hours to be confirmed. If you are certain you have the question correct, go ahead and ask a new question to move this thing along.
On the same lines, after a question has been confirmed correct, the person who answers it has 12 hours from that point to ask a new one. If that doesn't happen, the answer is nullified and the person who asked the last question, asks a new one.
I try to check in on this thread at least a couple times a day. I am designating God of Thunder (if he chooses to accept) as an alternate thread regulator. It seems that he is in here just as much as I am.

No clue, Mr. Biter. I know not a thing about Belle and Sebastian.

Good call knowing they were originally Obelisks, though!

Belle and Sebastian, a British band that is credited for the entire soundtrack to the film "Storytelling" had 7 members originally, but now only has 5.

Next question: Which of David Bowie's albums contains his first #1 US hit?

I believe it was Young Americans, the hit being Fame, co-written by John Lennon. Not 100% on that one, though.

Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin used to often play two guitar songs (White Summer/Black Mountainside) that were listed as written by him. They are actually sped up versions of two old folk songs with the words removed. What were the two folk songs?

Nice try. Looks like I posted another stumper.

The correct answer is She Moves Through the Fair and Blackwater Side.

So, new question:

Led Zeppelin also played a song entitled "Boogie with Stu". Who was Stu?

Thank you, gentlefolk. Okay, we'll go for a tough one and see what happens.

At the time of his death, Jeff Buckley was working on an album, of which the unfinished tracks were released as "Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk". This album began life as a writing contest between Jeff and what other famous musician to see who could write the best song?

I'll toss out a softball question.......

The Who and the KINKS have a very common thread (musically). The early success of both was due to a US producer. He produced the KINKS until Ray Davies pushed him out and he went onto produce the Who......

Who was this producer?

Extra points if you can tell me what else these 2 bands had in common once they began working with this producer.

Both groups changed their name to their popular one after they started recording with Talmy.

The Ravens became the Kinks and the High Numbers became the Who. (I don't know about the Who but Talmy didn't have anything to do with the Kinks name change.)

Just a little trivia.....

Good show Bob your turn.
