What are your thoughts on this? An elaborate hoax concocted and carried out by The Beatles? An incredible cover-up of an unthinkable tragedy? Too much pot in the lungs of students at Columbia University?

Personally, I think The Beatles were too brilliant for their own good, and made this all up themselves. The evidence in the songs and album art is pretty hard to deny.

If Paul is dead then someone needs to explain that whole Wings debacle to me. Seriously, Wings was not cool. At all.

I think it's just another case of people reading way too much into the music than was actually meant to be there. Sort of like the Satanic messages in Hotel California. Don Henley is a lot of things, but he's not the devil. Or maybe he is, but he's not writing songs about it anyway.

Wings not cool? Surely you jest! I'm calling Admiral Halsey on you! As soon as I reach my hands across the water.

I always thought the Paul is Dead rumor was just plain funny. With the amount and variety of material that the Beatles put out, you could read almost anything into it using the 'clues' they left.

Oh, and Martian is right. Wings was *not* cool.

Oh Come On Now! who can NOT like Silly Love Songs???? or Mull of Kintyre? or Junior's Farm.


Dammit I grew up (not threw up) on those songs....

Sorry Leto, but that's my opinion. Feel free to love all the Wings songs you want.

I just don't. There's lots of things I don't like, though.

To throw this back on track, though, Paul ain't dead, even if his Wings/Solo career isn't as awash in glory as his Beatles days.

Just joking Anxst. But yes I do have an affinity for the schmalzy stuff. I do like the pure Lennon stuff too. But yes, Sir Paul is alive and well, he just played a concert at the Air Canada Centre here two nights ago, and a private party last night.

Ah, but the hardcore Paul Is Dead fanatics will thell you that's really Billy Shears, the man who took over Paul's life to keep his death a secret.

To truly move this into the realm of Tilted Paranoia, I'm surprised they haven't come up with some insane theory that Mr. Shears did away with Linda for finally wanting to go public with the story. :hmm:

Well John thought he was "dead" too, and wondered how he could sleep at night . . . .

Paul's new album proves he's not dead, and in fact, there's plenty of life in the old boy.

As for the hoax, I accept that it was fan created, not Beatle fed. Lennon wouldn't have been able to keep it secret all those years.

That's why they killed him.

Maybe that's why I always liked the Beatles' later albums better. If the lookalike was a better bass player, then I say fuckit, glad yer dead.

And here I was sure it had something to do with Yoko.
