It's quite good for finding similar bands and opening up new experiences. Also, at http://rateyourmusic.com some people have personalised lists of bands and styles that are good to find. Six degrees of seperation and the like. |

http://www.music-map.com is very similar to musicplasma but without all the pretty graphics (though I'm not sure I totally agree w ith all their associations)
