Personally, I think the "Be Yourself" song sucks asshole, but that's just my opinion. Completely uninspired dreck.

I'm somewhere in between. I dig the new song but it does sound a bit uninspired. I'm a big fan so I'm looking forward to the new record regardless. I didn't like Cochise when it first came out and it turned out to be my least favorite song off the album. Hopefully that will be the case again.

not a big fan of Be Yourself, has an overproduced pop feel to it. Your Time has Come, on the other hand, is a solid tune and I can't wait for the new album!

I actually haven't had the opportunity to listen to audioslave's non-singles on their older album, but I do enjoy their singles.

Be yourself - it's fair. I like instrumentals during the chorus, but the one guitar riff seems like they completely ripped it off of 'wicked games' by chris isaak

One of the greatest regrets I have is passing up the opertunity to see their show in Chicago (I'm around the northern suburbs). I bought their self-titled album about two months ago, and it is probably the most played CD for 2005 thus far in my year. I am typically a 60's or 70's rock and roll guy (Stones, Zep, Faces, etc), but this band opened my eyes to a lot of Rage Against the Machine I would have normally dismissed. I would probably recommend anyone to check out Audioslave. I took the recommendation, and I turned out liking every song on the album.

I picked it up the day it came out. I have to say its a awsome 2nd album for these guys!

I find it to be a better blend this time around. Has some great Rage solo's and awsome lyrical voice of soundgarden mixed in nice and sweet. I give it 4 stars outa 5! Just cause i miss Zack :<

Hope you all are enjoying it.

"Yesterday To Tomorrow", "Heaven's Dead" & "Dandelion" are simply amazing songs. I love the diversity. RATM and Soundgarden were great, but too one-dimensional.

I don't expect them to be band too much longer judging by the amount of eye rollling that Chris Cornell was doing during their recent trip to Cuba. Tom Morello does not seem like a fun person to be in a band with.

When is Zack going to resurface?

i think they are phenomenally boring, produced and predictable band in a LONG time.

every solo effort i've heard from zack has blown anything audioslave has ever done out of the water. and is on par, and sometimes better than RATM

my guess as to why you would think that would be that audioslave seems atleast in my ears as something cornell has taken a hold of and grasped by the balls all the other members. You can tell by every once in a while there being morello doing some rage like playing but for the most part, i believe this is somewhat the direction that soundgarden would of went a few years down the road. which isnt entirely bad. (i listen to atleast 1 soundgarden album a day personally).
audioslave is ok when you are travelling and its on the radio. give me the two original bands together anyday though.

cornell's voice is strained and weak.

the rhythm section has none of the spark and groove they used to. sure brad was never a fantastic drummer, but he was always at least more creative than these songs. and tim, what happened to his funk? root note. root note. root note.

and let's not even start on tom. what used to be simple, melodic, but percussive playing has turned into boring, predictable and re-used. I used to drool, wondering what his nextwacky solo would sould like, but every audioslave song(with the exception of like a stone) was something heard before. He can't write catchy riffs anymore.

i heard a few demos and leaked stuff when they were "civilian", and it was quite a bit better than anything they've released. much better name too.

But for more classic rockish sound, go for their last two albums (Superunknown and Down on the Upside). Down on the Upside is by far my favourite and the most like classic rock, and as you go earlier, they get more and more grungy (ick ).
