Crowded House drummer dies
 

I'm shocked to just find out that Paul Hester, the drummer of Aussie band Crowded House has killed himself in Melbourne on the weekend.

Crowded House were one of the biggest Aussie bands of the late 80's and 90's, and pretty successful overseas. Hester was a real showman, and always seemed a pretty lively character, but apparently he struggled with depression, and ended his life by hanging himself in a Melbourne park on Saturday afternoon.

Such a shame....thoughts go out to his two little girls and his parter. He will indeed be missed.

Very sad news.

I've just become a Crowded House/Finn fan over the past few months. Don't know how I made it this far without hearing more than a few songs, but I purchased their greatest hits set a few weeks ago and have been playing it nonstop. Hester's drumming was top-notch and my sympathies go out to his family and fans everywhere.

He and Finn left Split Enz to create Crowded House with Nick Seymour.

Man, haven't thought about that band in a while. Tragic.

I will have to dig out the vinyl when I get home.

I am really sorry to hear that... I used to listen to Crowded House and Split Endz quite a bit.
