Big Guitar Nuts
Vote on the guitar riff you think has the biggest goddamn balls in the world!
Some examples of big-balls riffs: - Sad but true, Metallica - Walk, Pantera - Back in Black, AC DC - Smoke on the Water, Deep purple My vote goes to Sad but True. |
"Dogman", Kings X. Anyone else familiar with this? If not, you owe it to yourself.
|
lamb of god - laid to rest (opening)
pantera - this love (mid-song) alice in chains - them bones (opening) |
Ill go with Alice in Chains' Them Bones, Again, Dam that River, We Die Young, and maybe Man in the Box.

No Quarter--Zep
Kashmir--zep In My Time Of Dying--Zep In the Light--Zep Ironman--Sabbath Fairies Wear Boots--Sabbath Just to many to remember |
Ironman is probably the best ever. But I've always thought Purple Haze and Sunshine Of Your Love were pretty fuckin memorable. Theres a million riffs out there that just kick ass.
Asta!! |
Ironman is awesome. I just recently learned that Tony Iommi played his guitar with it tuned really low because of a factory accident where he lost the tips of two of his fingers. If not for that, they would have never had that low, edgy sound that inspired millions of would-be rockers.
Also, Poundcake - Van Halen. You have to have balls to take a power-drill to Frankenstein. |

I also like "Seek and Destroy" by Metallica. That intro guitar part is pretty sweet. |
any classic Joe Perry aerosmith riffs. Walk this way. Sweet Emotion.
Ted Nugent Cat scratch fever or Wang dang... are purty catchy as well. |
With a little help from my friends--Joe Cocker (Page on guitar)
The bitch is back--Elton John Live and let die--McCartney or GNR Eruption--Van Halen Panama-- Van Halen Dear Mr. Fantasy--Traffic |
Some less obvious ones:
Steve Vai - Erotic Nightmares, Die to Live Dave Lee Roth - It's Showtime (so doesn't sound like Jason Becker) Extreme - L'il Jack Horny |
supernaut is a much cooler riff-tune than iron man, i think.
