Lot to be said for "Sober", but I have got to go with Tom Petty - "Don't Come Around Here No More." Surreal, literate, and ironic trumps surreal and disturbing.

Honorable mentions to Talking Heads, "Once in a Lifetime" - David Byrne is such a freak - and Duran Duran for "Girls on Film". How can you beat women in next to nothing on a whip-creamed pole feeling each other up?

Ironic that Metallica got 2 nods for the video for "One" when you take into consideration that Metallica had said at one point that they would NEVER do a video.

disappointing that such a a great video was one of the things that marked the beginning of their sellout to corporate influences.
