A fire inside
they are on of my favourite bands.i like nearly everything about their music.
but unfortunatelly they aren't very popular in germany and i haven't been able to catch them live yet.has anyone here seen them live?i have heard they are quite popular in america.is that true? |
I checked out their website.
Their fairly decent. That's saying something, because I'm really picky when it comes to music. I've heard "Girls not Gray" some where, and liked "Silver not Cold". Even though I recconize that one song, I don't think I've ever heard their name before. Where I live isn't really a hot bed for up and coming bands . But then again I consider myself somewhat of an "expert" on up and coming bands, I'm really into discovering new music < /ego stroke > Thanks for the word-up. |
They're decent. I like "Silver and Cold" and "The Days of the Phoenix".
|
Yeah seen them live in, but I'm from Australia there pretty big here in the "punk" scene. Very good live performers almost too much energy.
|
They don't appeal to me
|
Some of you guys probably haven't heard of them because they go by AFI usually instead of A fire inside. I too think they're decent. It's the singers voice that I can't really get used to. I can definitely see why some people like them though.
Asta!! |
They are the best band around right now.
That's no opinion, just plain fact! ;) But ya, they are incredible live. I've seen them three times, and every show has been better than any other show I've been to. |
Jujin by yer avatur I neva wooda guessed you waz a fan!
Asta!! |
its nice to see some afi fans, because idon't know any.i wanted my freinds to listen to them,i made them hear silver and cold and girls not grey, but they didn't like it.this is someting that is strange, because afi are a very very good band, and they are quite inovativa, not to say the great voice of davey!

old AFI > new AFI
|
Actually, from what I've heard, I heartily disagree.
New AFI >>>>>>>> Old AFI |
Im not a big fan, but I do like the albums black sails in the sunset and the art of drowning. Some of the songs, such as the lost souls, days of the phoenix and no poetic device are really catchy.
|
old albums > sing the sorrow (newest)
i have tried to see them several times, but have yet to see them. their tickets were near impossible to get before they were "famous" and even harder now. at least in so cal they sell out near instantly. however, i know they usually play at smaller venues, so i hear their shows really rock. |
I like The Art of Drowning probably the most out of all their discs that they've released. Has a more honest feel to the music. Seems like Sing the Sorrow they've really tried to widen their approach which is cool, but it just didn't have the same raw "wow!" power that Art of Drowning did to me.
I heartily recommend everyone checking them out though.... |
old AFI use to be great, their new shit is shit.
Ever since Sing a sarrow I lost most respect for them that I had. They went mainstream and tried to get the popular radio music. |
their new stuff is much better.listen to 6 to 9 ,it is great half ballad.or wester.and the lyrics are very poetic.awesome!
|
afi is awesome probably my favourite band right now... the lyrics davey havok writes are incredible
i like the older stuff more... |
i too like the older stuff and not so much the new stuff
all hallows EP is quite good |
