Best Lennon album or compilation?
Can anyone recommend his best album or compilation?

The one I have is Lennon Legend: The Very Best of John Lennon, I'm not knowledgeable
of his entire collection, but of all the songs I'd expect to be in a VB collection are in the CD. |
Yeah, if you had to get just one thing, the Lennon Legend compilation is definitely the best since it pretty much gives you all the essentials from his solo career.
As far as actual albums, I think Plastic Ono Band would be the one to start out with, followed closely by Imagine. |

Lennon Legend. A good representation of all John Lennon.

Put me down for Plastic Ono Band. Like Begora said, it's angry and raw and emotional. It was his first solo album, and he just let loose. I think it provides important perspective for all of his other solo work.

I liked Double Fantasy a whole lot but I imagine you can get most of those elsewhere.
