Goin' To See Gomez Tonight!

I'm pretty damn excited about this. They're playing in Columbia, Missouri and it ought to be a great show. This is one of the favorite bands I've never had a chance to see as they don't seem to tour that much.

Are there any other Gomez fans here? If so, have you seen them live? What did you think?

heh.. Just made a thread on Gomez a week ago and I don't think anyone responded. Must not be many fans here.

I saw them play here in Calgary last Friday and it was great. It was the first time I saw them as well and I was very impressed. They have a great live act, I'm sure you'll have a great time. Enjoy the show.

I've never even heard of the group.. What type of music do they play? (Please say classic rock! )
If they're more of an alternative, not-main stream group, then that's probably why I don't know about
them, being that I hardly know any new *mainstream* groups :P

ok. they play classic rock.

Reall though, I have a really hard time discribing them to anyone. I was trying to get rid of a couple extra tickets last week and no one had heard of them so I was trying to describe it and the best I came up with was a mix of Oasis, The Beatles, and Radiohead. Though that doesn't come anywhere close.

I really dig em' though and if you want you can check out a couple off their latest cd here: http://www.gomez.co.uk/ enjoy

sherpahigh, I just got back from the show, and they were AMAZING! That was one of the best shows I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of great ones. They were actually broadcasting the show live on the BBC, so I think the boys played longer and were probably pretty amped. I don't know of very many shows that sounded as well balanced and good as they did. Their energy was great too. So glad I was able to go. I wish the turds toured the MidWest more often.

Right on, I wonder if anyone recorded the BBC broadcast. I'd like to get a hold of a live Gomez show.

Good to hear you had a good time. More people should go check them out if they can, they wouldn't be dissapointed.

I wouldn't be surprised if this show ended up being a live release. I'd love to hear it again. They were better last night than they are on the albums. It was that good. If you find out about a recording, let me know.
