anyone pick up their new albums? i've been thinkin' about 'em, but not sure if i want to get 'em. just want to hear what other people have to say, see if it'll persuade me to pick 'em up. thanks!

Anytime Talib puts out a new album pick up TWO copies mang. Joss Stone? I dunno I never thought she was THAT great..I just thought she could sing pretty good but this new single of hers...Ya Had Me or whatever its called? Yeah that songs pretty bad. She went from sounding like soul to sounding just like every other stupid ass "r&b" artist that fucked up the genre for me. Especially the white ones (not being racist it's just 98% of them suck ass and are more than likely poseurs). Thank God for the most part ya still got people like Alicia Keys who are doing R&B and Soul the way its SUPPOSED to be done. Not this sing over a rap beat bullshit...plus her music has actual content.

That's pretty much what I think of both artists, but if I had to choose one I'd go with Talib even though his music isn't my thing.

yeah, i didn't think joss stone was that great either, just heard a lot of hype, so i guess i'll be passing on her =P
and i'm still not set on talib, so i'll pass on that one, too.

It seems like Joss Stone is starting to crack America, all over the net Ive seen people talking about her these last few weeks... she's been doing pretty well in the UK for a year or so now.

Personally, I think she has potential, she has a great voice, but she is getting too hyped up and too controlled by major label interests.

I haven't liked Kweli's last 2 albums, outside a couple of songs. I would wait for Mos Def's new album.
