Thought I"d share this: me playing drums!
First of all. I've had this set for only 3 months and I'm lucky to get 1-2 days of practice for about 30min. Used to play back in high school...in 1986!! So I was trying to do some groves and I cam up with this http://krycheck.iceware.net/downloads/drumpratice.wmv
It's not perfect but I was fun! So I'd thought I'd share and get some feed back. Note: Still need to get the tuning right and the cymbals suck!! |
Man that's awesome!! Sounds like music to a fight scene or something. Make more videos of your beats. It'd be awesome if more people could post videos like this. It's really awesome when a drummer goes off and basically makes a song with only drum beats.

I like it- -and you sure looked like you were having fun -- enthusiasm counts for a lot...

Its better then I'd ever do, so to me that was good. :)

I have a few different responses for this:
As a fellow TFP'er: I think it's awesome that you had the guts to throw this up here. I've gained a ton of respect for you for that. As a listener: It's a pretty cool beat. After listening to it a few times, I could think up some pretty awesome guitar riffs to go with it (too bad I don't play guitar, so I can't compose my musical thoughts in that way). As a fellow drummer: You were slightly off-beat in some areas. Plus, I think you REALLY need to mix it up a bit. Yeah, it's cool that you were showcasing one, simple beat (keeping it simple is key), but for a video as long as it is, I expected some drum fills or at least a few openings of that high-hat. Keep up the great work! |

Thanks to everyone. Glad you enjoyed it. I'll post one when I "really" get better ;) |
Dude: The shirts hanging up directly to your left?
Now THAT'S fuckin' rock and roll! Seriously - nice job. I love works-in-progress. Keep it up and post more clips when you get a chance. |
Thank god there are some more drummers on this forum :P
I'm about to purchase a Mapex Pro M set in Tobacco Fade...5 piece set up with 12 13 and 16 toms with a 20" bass and 14x5.5" snare. It's gonna be completely bangin |
Thanks again everyone. You guys got me motivated to do some more.
Oh and some info on the set: PDP from Drum Workshop 5 piece MX series (I belive) with a 18" crash/ride and 14" hi hat also from PDP. Only paid $299 for 'em. Hope to get some nice Zildjian cymbals soon. |
