Help me put together a 80's Big Hair Album
I was listening to the rock station tonight and they always play 80's at 8 and it got me thinking it would be cool to put a mix CD together of the hits from the big hair bands of the 80's and early 90's.
The Couple of songs I have so far are... Bon Jovi - You give love a bad name Def Leppard - Armageddon it Warrant - Cherry Pie (did these guys have any other hits?) Posion - Fallen Angel or Every Rose has its Thorn Motley Crue - Dr. Feelgood or Smoking in the Boys room Any suggestions? Im looking for popular bands and mostly their hits not some obscure band that wasn't played on the radio... im looking for the music I listened to in high school which was just what was played on the radio DB |

BILLY IDOL - White Wedding, Rebel Yell
G-N-R - Welcome To The Jungle The Police - King Of Pain All depends there was a lot of different music in the 80's, unlike today. We had pop rock (Madonna, Duran Duran, Micheal Jackson, Billy Joel, Phil Collins), political rock (REM, Smiths, Tears for Fears, etc) glam rock (Wham, Culture Club, Oingo Boingo), Synth rock (A-Ha, Mr. Mister), hair bands (G-N-R, Poison, etc.), Slasher PoliPunk (Anthrax, Old Metallica, Suicidal Tendancies, Violent Femmes, etc.), Girl Rock (Pat Benatar, Heart, Bangles, Joan Jett, Lita Ford, Samantha Foxx... ah some wet dreams from those bands) Duran Duran - Hungry Like the Wolf Van Halen - Panama The Pogues - Lullaby on Broadway Violent Femmes - Old Mother Reagan Tears for Fears - Everybody Wants To Rule The World Phil Collins - In The Air Starship - Sara Mr Mister - Welcome To The Real World The KINKS - Destroyer Cheap Trick - Dream Police Beastie Boys - Fight For YOUR Right (To Parrrrrrrr-teeeee) DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince - Parents Just Don't Understand Genesis - Invisible Touch Springsteen - Glory Days Prince - When Doves Cry Huey Lewis and The News - I Wanna New Drug Bruce Hornsby - That's Just The Way It Is Psychadelic Furs - Don't You Forget About Me Tom Petty - I Won't Back Down JOHN MELLENCAMP - Pink Houses, Paper In Fire, Small Town Billy Joel - Pressure Lionel Ritchie - All Night Long Bon Jovi - You Give Love A Bad Name Quiet Riot - Mental Health INXS - Devil Inside Wow sorry getting carried away.... tons of great and meaningful music (or music that brings back memories, at least). Looking back, I realize, we had some fucking killer music, and there was so much variety that everyone could do their own thing and enjoy. People focus on the latter half (Hair Bands ....) but there was great music the whole decade. But it also made for very fickle fans. Of Course we had the Great Weird Al also ......
