Pearl Jam @ Benaroya Hall
Pearl Jam has about 3 million live cds out, I guess one more couldn't hurt right?
Well this one is different, it's an intimate 'acoustic' show, played in Seattle, that was a benefit for YouthCare. It also has a few cool covers Dylan's Masters of War, Johnny Cash's 25 Minutes to Go, The Ramones I Believe in Miracles and of course, another version of Victoria Williams' Crazy Mary. The best thing about the album is that the performances are incredible! I absolutely love the live version of Man of the Hou'. I definietly recommend picking up this disc.

Oh, I wondered what made this different than their other live albums. Have you heard the one from, I think, Massachusettes (or however you spell it) which is 3 discs? The first is all acoustic, which they played before Sleater-Kinney opened for them, the other 2 is the plugged-in concert after Sleater-Kinney.
I actually got myself a ticket for a show which is only about 5 miles from where I live. Not trying to gloat, but I expect it to be awesome. It is in a place with seating of "only" 6000 people, and I'm fairly near the stage, so I'm going to try to yell loudly during a lull in the sound (maybe during a quiet song) to see if I can get my voice on the inevitable live release of the show. Maybe I'll yell out my phone number to see what kind of crazy calls I'll get from curious listeners of the disc. On second thought, maybe that won't be a good idea. |
