Tom Waits in Berlin
 

So I've just gotten my tickets for the concert of the millennium - Tom Waits, November 15th in Berlin.
Third row almost dead centre.
This will be my second time I see him, last time was in '99 in Stockholm, July 14th. Second row dead centre.
Anybody else who's coming? I'm meeting up with a lot of people, at least 15 or 20. We're going to make Berlin a rowdy place, howling at the moon, burning umbrellas till dawn. I'll dry out in the sun and sleep in your hat. My footsteps will smell like kerosene.

Yes, it should be very very good. When I saw him in Stockholm, he came in from the back of the theatre with a bullhorn, throwing confetti and screaming "laaaaadies and gentlemeeeeen, step right up"... I still have some of that confetti. Magical concert, one of the best of his 1999 tour. The bootleg of the show is actually one of the best recordings of his shows, ever.
Should be good indeed... new album coming in the beginning of october, too!

i saw waits on the "small change" tour--it was very cool--but i have wanted to see him since the shift in his sound, around swordfishtrombones--should be a fine fine show--am turning green.....

Wow roachboy, now I am the envious one... I'd love to have seen him in his earlier period!

i saw that tour with the confetti entrance at the chicago theater.....one of the best shows i've ever seen in any genre. i'd been pining to see him live since the mid-80's, and unless you live in california, you gotta jump on it when it happens, 'cause he just doesn't get out much!

you wouldnt....by some chance....be one of those people who....um....how to say...records shows, would you?

or maybe you are one of those people who knows other people who record shows?

or maybe you are one of those people who knows where to look to find recordings made and offered up by those who do record shows?

or maybe you are somehow pals with the sound dude for this venue and he said something already about how he records every show, it is like being a cop and having weed, and if you are very nice or something, a dub could be made available?

Usually, www.sharingthegroove.org has a huge collection of live concerts available by bittorrent. They seem to be down right now, but try again tomorrow.
