The Disco Biscuits--any fans on the TFP?
This past summer i've been gettin down with the disco biscuits, I love their sound. I've only seen them live once, but since that show i've been a huge fan. Their sound is influenced by bands like Phish, Greatful Dead, Pink Floyd..etc,etc. But then they take it to the next level and play some really trippy techno beats. While the songs lyrics aren't all that profound, they're sung well and go with their flow.
I'm planning on seeing them Sept. 3rd at B.B Kings blues club in NYC. Anyone who's curious enough to check them out should definitely stop by. Since most of you probably can't make it to the city, you should check out some of their albums. The ones that i reccomend the most are their TranceFusion Radio Broadcasts. They take live shows and bring them back to the studio to tweek the sounds and make it as pristine as possible. They're really just excellent albums. I believe you can order them from homegrownmusic.com , they have their regular studio albums as well, but for a first time listen you'll be more blown away by the TranceFusions. here are a few song reccomendations to download: I-Man Magellen Gangster The Munchkin Invasion Pygmy Twylyte (which is a frank zappa song) That's all i have to say about that..check em out! ;) |
I'll have to check that out, I have never heard of them!

HERE is a site where you can download 3 of their live shows in .mp3 format. Really good stuff.
Here's a review of the 2002 show that I have also downloaded and listened to but I didn't write this: Quote:

I love the disco biscuits as well. I knew some of them when I was in college in Phiily while they were first starting up. They are one of those bands that seems to be better every time I see them.
